TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! JACKSON COUNTY INSIDER COURTHOUSE SUCCESSION DEALS EXPOSED AMID DOWNFALL OF EXECUTIVE MIKE SANDERS!!!

Thanks to the KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS our blog community was FIRST to note legislator Frank White as the front runner for the new Jackson County Executive job. Later in the afternoon, MSM finally caught up and followed our lead.
Now . . .
CHECK THE SOME OF THE JACKSON COUNTY INSIDER DEALS ALREADY UNDER DISCUSSION AS THE TRANSITION TO A NEW REGIME BEGINS!!!
Make no mistake, all of this stuff is going to be tricky and there are a lot of moving parts.
In a great bit of journalism. Only The Independence Examiner has done a decent job in explaining the official succession process:
"The nine-member County Legislature has 30 days to name someone to fill the job for the rest of 2016 – and there could be some time beyond that for the person to become available to start.
"Then the voters will decide who fills out the rest of Sanders’ term in 2017 and 2018. Candidates start filing in March, primary elections are in August, and the general election is next November.
"The County Legislature will fill (Legislator Dennis) Waits’ seat for the rest of his term, which runs through 2018. Since Waits is a Democrat, the county Democratic Committee will forward three names to the Legislature."
But that's just the mechanics of local government.
Now, check these deets that have Jackson County Insiders abuzz:
CALVIN & SKIPPY'S STAFFERS STAY WINNING FOR NOW!!!

The biggest part of this shakeup underway which has more than a few Jackson County Insiders hot under the collar is the deal to preserve the top staffers loyal to Jackson County Executive Mike Sanders. Calvin is probably one of the most clever people at the County and his base of support is strong. He has many friends and detractors alike . . . The County is better off for his institutional knowledge of local politics and government but the reality is that, just like Mike Sanders, he has people who want him gone. Here's @ TKC we're smart enough to know that this power broker will prove to be an asset wherever he works.
SKIPPY COULD RETURN AS THE JACKSON COUNTY RAIL LAWYER!!!

We're skeptical about this because people with a lot of influence usually don't have to quit their job in the middle of the night during Christmastime . . .
However . . .
JACKSON COUNTY INSIDERS FEAR MIKE SANDERS COULD HAVE MADE A DEAL TO REMAIN A PART OF THE VAPORWARE TRAIN LEGAL TEAM!!!
Local government transit schemes have turned into nothing more than a tragic Kansas City gravy train and this embattled politico could be looking at earning income down the line despite giving up on the job voters elected him to fulfill.
WE'RE ALL PAWNS FOR MR. PEANUT!!!

Real talk, there's a Kansas City real estate baron who really runs the Courthouse and far more say over the management of the Executive's office than voters have for more than a generation.
THE RETURN OF FRANK WHITE SHOULD SCARE DAVID GLASS!!!

Insiders remind us: Frank White never really reconciled with the Royals and now he's back on equal footing with the team who ran him out. Bright side: As Jackson County Executive that puts him in a much better position to negotiate good deals in the future for taxpayers.
SHERWOOD STAYS WINNING IF HE WANTS TO!!!

Former Firefighter and union guy Sherwood Smith has been a tireless advocate for 1st responders over his career and he would have won a place on the legislature if not for Frank White's overwhelming name recognition. We notice that Mr. Smith has been a bit soured on the political process but there isn't anybody who can claim the guy isn't qualified to make another run for the Legislature that should prove successful this time around.
VOTERS SHOULD DEMAND EXECUTIVE OFFICE HOUSE CLEANING!!!

Rather than mindlessly singing the praises of some retreating politico . . . It's time to clean house at the county and get real about the state of 12th & Oak.
A property tax mess, constant FBI investigations and so many sketchy contracts have proven to a stumbling block for even the most astute political denizens. After another decade of politicos promising "reform" at the County . . . It's clear that corruption rules the day in this sketchy labyrinth of local government.
Frank White Needs To Be More Than A Legendary Kansas City Name

Frank White is a beloved Kansas City icon and his support is overwhelming. The electorate is at his footsteps and his approval rating now rivals that of Congressman Cleaver and Mayor Sly James according to Jackson County Insiders. While he has only spent a few months on the job, he seems to be a good legislator, eager to learn and willing to offer leadership by way of consensus. There is a lot to like about Frank White but only time will tell if he'll be able to withstand a legacy of divisive politics which has plagued Jackson County for years and destroyed the careers of more than a few previously promising politicos.
Developing . . .
Dan Tarwater waited too long. He should have ran against Mike in the last election. Now it seems too late.
ReplyDeleteBest line and the only thing here that I can verify: "Transit schemes have turned into nothing more than a tragic Kansas City gravy train"
ReplyDeleteTHAT is the reality for KC.
Rail is just political patronage started from the Obama administration on down. Just a way to pay off political lackeys.
Cathy Jolly should run for Executive.
ReplyDeleteHe'll be able to spend more quality time with his family over Kwanza.
ReplyDeleteSanders was not well liked, he doesn't deserve a job with the county. Time to get him off the payroll.
ReplyDeleteNutter will bitch slap Sherwood "Unlce Tom" Smiff AGAIN, if he pops his head up. Firemen will have to decide if they want to piss away $$ on yet another doomed vanity project for a proven political amatuer with little rank and file support and a list of political enemies as long as his history of lies.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't matter who gets appointed. It will be about politics and agendas and nothing about the constituents anyway.
ReplyDeleteCOMBAT staff will need to clean up their act now that Joan Dicky is charged with reforming the office. Heads will roll. This is a very good thing.
ReplyDeleteTKC, remind your readers that this ONLY works if people VOTE. the reasons things are so bad is because people don't vote.
ReplyDelete^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Word
ReplyDeletePopularity does not always render skill sets with knowledge and common sense for decision-making.
ReplyDeleteWTF doesn't anybody have a freekin clue about what is really going on behind the scenes. Sklppy, Jolley, Wright and Roe are all going to jail.
ReplyDeleteOther than that things will remain the same.
Can we please have someone that actually cares about the people. No more Grifters, please.
ReplyDeleteI'd be willing to give Frank White a chance, but we need to start thinking about term limits for the County.
ReplyDelete3 terms is ENOUGH.
Tony, you really don't have a clue about the free for all behind the scenes jockeying for Waits spot. And you must not know the movement that will put some big names in jail including your old nemisis. Here, Tony, Sherwood Smiff is calling all the county dems committmen to plead for .....wait for it......Frank White WTF huh. Tony get someone on the inside because it is jest plain crazy what is happening and the Master Phil of the Master Blaster LeVotas' riding on top of (Levota foreplay..If you asked to uck me I won't say no Paul LeVota...KC Star) is the hub of all the committee votes. The Brothers Levota will determine who gets Waits spot.
ReplyDeleteThe inside track it held by Boom Boom of Independence. She will prevail as Waits replacement. All others need to just stay home.
Alot of ratting on old pards going on right now. Big dragnet being pulled in and alot of Jaco corrupt birds bout to be caged.
Tony, why you not got this figured out Comp?
And the Chamber swells and assorted KC hand-wringing do-gooders wonder why none of the other political jurisdictions in the metro want to have anything to do with Jackson County and KCMO!
ReplyDeleteIs it really too much to ask to not have to take a shower after meetings with this tribe?
3:17 - I hate it when Phil tries to talk like a vato.
ReplyDeleteBut I think TKC did mention that this whole mess works out great for the Levotas. If only the public didn't hate them so much.
TKC not reporting that Mr. Peanut is fucking Skippy in the ass ? Wonder why ?
ReplyDeleteSherman Smith doesn't "deserve" anything. He ran for office and got schlonged by the Frank White.
ReplyDeleteI heard Rep. John Rizzo is dropping out of his race. Something about the fuzz
ReplyDeleteJJ ain't gowin nowhere jedrule. JJ gone be da Senator you foo.
