Celebrate The TKC Saturday Night Playlist!!! Kansas City Learns Politicos Are Dangerous To Themselves And Others!!!

This is the year Kansas City officially gave up on Democracy given the record low number of voters casting their ballots.
Now we enter the week of year-end list by hacks across the city . . . But instead of rounding up, tonight we want to focus on just a few realities and dangers of local political life moving toward the future . . .
Mayor Sly: Selfie Politicos Proves Popular On The Internets And Nowhere Else

This year Mayor Sly James was greeted with nothing but contempt in Brookside and many other places outside the Dowtown Loop & The Crossroads. Now, he now faces a series of petitions which call his integrity into question. Sure, locals still love his selfies via social media but he's now a politico who must operate by clandestine legislative maneuvers and no longer can rule the will of voters. In the aftermath of his unpopularity, the lack of transparency and openness Mayor Sly James enacts at City Hall is dangerous to representative Democracy in Kansas City.
And his approach to the uptick in Kansas City crime is downright despicable:
Wall Street Journal: Trying to Hide the Rise of Violent Crime
Again, these efforts wouldn't be so bad if they didn't hold negative consequences for all of Kansas City.
Show-Me The Year Of Mysterious Missouri Political Suicide
Don't forget that this is the year the Missouri Auditor and one of his staffers committed suicide for reasons that nobody wants to talk about . . . In the aftermath, media was content to talk about pointless "ethics" because the real answer about all of the clandestine moves that ended in tragedy for this Republican are probably too scary and dangerous. Make no mistake, local political hacks are playing for high stakes, these are folks who are often desperate and their egos run wild always hold horrible consequences for people who get too close.
Jackson County Ruled By Political Deal Making As Mike Sanders Had To Run Away In The Middle Of The Night

Mike Sanders was once touted as a reformer but his late night exit from politics prove that he didn't change much regarding the shady politics of the County. In his absence, all bets are off and some of the most cynical and costly insider deals are now under negotiation which threaten to make life more expensive an treacherous for Jackson County taxpayers.
Golden Ghetto Greater Chamber Of Commerce Crowd Rules Kansas City Politics

Like it or not, from the Toy Train Streetcar to the Airport or the corrupt convention hotel . . . Just about every bad idea starts at the Greater Kansas City Chamber Of Commerce. And here's Kansas City's dirty little secret . . . These biz community insiders mostly reside in Johnson County so they don't really have to live with the consequences of their bad decisions in a city that's growing increasingly violent and inhospitable to all of these eco-devo schemes.
Girl Power Proves One Of The Most Powerful Forces In Kansas City

Girl Power is tricky in Kansas City . . . When it works, it's undeniable and this year a coalition of ladies have united in order to block Mayor Sly on some of his worst schemes. HOWEVER, it's not 100%; politicos like Crystal Williams haven't been able to capitalize on female unity and her plays at gender identity politics have come up short. In the end, women crying wolf about discrimination hurts their cause . . .
And so, all of these trends have inspired our playlist tonight . . .
As always, thanks for reading this week and amid a great deal of possible flash flooding thanks to old and busted local storm sewer systems, have a safe and fun Saturday Night . . .
I'm more concerned about the terrorists, and by that I mean all of the consultants who are equally desperate and looking for a KCMO money deal.
ReplyDeletewhere is Sly? Seems like he has been on vacation for an awfully long time.
ReplyDeleteI'll tell you this, being a politician is about as worthless as being a journalist. Me, myself, I post on facebook but only to see who is DTF. You'd be surprised to know that the answer is a lot of people.
ReplyDeleteAnd democracy in KC would be over if not for Tony and his accurate, objective, fact based blogging.
ReplyDeleteSure thing.
See, you can say anything on the internet.
You can say anything if you're a politician, lawyer, judge, hangers-on too. Normal people call it lying. These types call it saying anything.
DeleteBeing new to all this, would somebody please just tell me plainly why Mike Sanders quit
ReplyDeleteWhat the frig is going on?
They say the FBI was after him. He said he wanted to spend more time with his family.
ReplyDeleteJust like most electeds in KC, he never did anything much for anybody but himself and his funders.
I don't like most of what happens on this blog but I will give Tony's KC credit for this, the people on here are the only ones to call Sanders and the Mayor on their bullshit.
Vote for Pedro.
ReplyDelete7:58 Pedro offers us his protection in the form of a venue that provides exactly the type of information that 7:24 is looking for and the K.C. Star would never print because of the free tax breaks and close ties to the Kleptocrats in City Hall.
ReplyDeleteSo yes, I vote for Pedro and the closest thing you will get as far as the truth of what goes on in this "Dirty Little Town", the eponymous TKC!
Sly turned out to be a joke, same with Sanders. It seems we need to start looking at these candidates more closely before we vote for them.
ReplyDeleteIs there any thing more narcissistic than a "selfie"?
ReplyDeleteMaybe its okay for teenage girls, but for a grown man its just weird.
12:24 not only is he a grown man taking selfies but he's also really old, a senior citizen. Weird is an understatement.
ReplyDeleteIF that NIGGER Mayor is so unpopular, why the hell is he a second termer?? It doesn't make sense to continue to elect the ape that nobody likes. Somebody do...
