KANSAS CITY STAR STAYS LOSING SEYZ KICK-ASS TKC BLOG COMMUNITY!!!

An important note on the current state of Kansas City print journalism from an anonymous yet STILL AWESOME TKC SOURCE . . . Here's the word:

"Pick up a paper copy of today's KC Star and check out the corrections on page 2. Most humiliating thing I've ever seen in a newspaper. They have two. The first is a correction of an earlier correction. That's bad enough. The other is a correction to an item they printed about their own Pulitzer Prize that they earned back in the 1980s when they were still a real newspaper. They screwed up a report on their own Pulitzer. Unbelievable.

Also: You'll have to buy a paper copy to see these. Check the Star's home page and see if you can find a link for "Corrections." There isn't one. Then plug "correction" into the search field and see if these come up. They don't. The "newspaper of record" has NO mechanism for online readers to find out what was wrong in what they read the day before. Shameful."

  6. If a guy with clearly too much time on his hands represents your blog community, a lot is explained.

That image of meaningless should be getting clearer for you Tony. And that's from your TKC community.

  10. The Star is a pale shadow of what it was, and it was never much. Nearly all stories are from a national wire service or some other newspaper (a glowing review of the movie tribute to the dyed in the wool Stalinist Dalton Trumbo came from the Minneapolis paper, I think it's called Pravda). About the only locally produced articles are the daily fatwas against Browning. It is dying a hard lingering death.
