The 'Ferguson Effect' Murder Spike For Realz

The 'Ferguson Effect' claims that some police officers are afraid to do their jobs because of public scrutiny and lack of public support . . . Progressives and our local Dead Tree Media deny this symptom of a much bigger problem. One of the top law enforcement officials in the nation is doubling down on invoking the trend amid an uptick in murder across the nation and in Kansas City, too: FBI Director Doubles Down On Linking Scrutiny Of Police With Rise In Violent Crime

  1. If they are afraid to do their jobs then they need to quit or be fired. Plain and simple. If you can't stand the heat, get outta the kitchen. What a bunch of whiny, cry babies. Wahhh Wahhh Wahhhh.

  2. This guy is so full of shit it isn't even funny. Every fucking thing he said is pure speculation backed my near no statistical evidence or testimony that police a screwing the pooch any more than usual. Just what we needed. Another bureaucrat with an opinion shooting off his pie pole when he out to be back in D.C. cleaning up that clusterfuck known as the FBI.

  3. I don't blame the cops at all. The cops cannot win with these assholes.
Let the animals kill each other. Wall the boons in and let 'em go at it.

  4. I had no idea that our rough, tough cops were really such shy little flowers. What utter BS!

Look, policing a free society is the most challenging job in the world. Policing a police state is easy: when guys don't do as they are told, bash in their heads or shoot them. In a free society, there are rights and rules -- all of which make it harder. Plus -- since we have so many fools with guns -- our police have to do their jobs literally at gunpoint, or the threat thereof.

As long as they are doing their public safety job, cops deserve the benefit of a doubt. It tends to be their egos that get them in trouble over crap like jaywalking (Ferguson) or selling single cigarettes (Staten Island).

  7. Don't support the cops? Don't call them. Most of these protestors are the first ones on the phone when shit gets deep.
