Sophie Dee is so sweet that we ALMOST wish she wasn't so awesome at her pr0n game. Still, right now she inspires this quick look at a lot of Kansas City links on this Saturday morning.

ReplyDeleteOnce the grandiose announcements have been made, the balloons have drifted off into the sky, the bands have gone home, and the confetti has washed into the gutters, the folks at 12th and Oak are all on to the NEXT BIG THING and have no time for boring stuff like management, follow-up, or accountability for results.
Streets, sidewalks, fountains, sewers, water systems, and all the rest.
Why would anyone think this will be any different?
A city that works.
Just not for you.
In the 1960s an elevated monorail (the transportation of the future) was built at the fairgrounds in Oklahoma City. It ran for a few years and then fell in disuse and disrepair. Today it is mounted on a small section of the elevated track as a monument to whatever.
ReplyDeleteLook for our new new choo choo to travel the same route.
In Kansas city it is not about how we will run things to improve the city, it's about what can I get built while in office and then haul ass out of here before the real bills of taking care of it show up.
ReplyDeleteReport does not answer the question taxpayers have; why doesn't the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority operate the trolley and save the taxpayers from losing even more dollars?
