Show-Me LGBT Employment Protection SMACKDOWN In Missouri Court

Money line for recent rulling that impacts Kansas City hiring practices as well: "If the Missouri legislature had desired to include sexual orientation in the Missouri Human Rights Act's protections, it could have done so," Chief Judge James Welch wrote in the majority opinion." Court rules Missouri law denies gays employment protection

  3. Let's give LGBT a full slice of the set asides. I would love to watch the gays, women and minorities trying to scratch each other's eyes out.

  4. I've been on a board of a mid town non profit. Half the time when you fire someone for not showing up they sue the org for discrimination. Even though half the managers are minorities. I think that we should eliminate all suits for wrongful termination based on race sex or religion. It's all bullshit.

  5. I had an employee who started wearing a dress to work.
I felt deliberately misled and setup.
Yes, he was gay and, yes, I knew it when I hired him, but he wore men's clothes. That's how he presented, that's who I hired, but then I'm in trouble if I don't let him wear a dress to help customers.

  8. Judge Welch has to be one of the most incompetent judges out there. His opinions are rooted in personal believes and not law. Time to remove this judge from the bench. Too old. Too foolish. He's way past his useful life.

  10. Not in reference to this case, but the MO Human Rights Commission is a TOTAL JOKE and DISGRACE.

It should be disbanded. The KC staff don't answer their phone, and don't investigate complaints. The Jefferson City office don't return phone calls, actively discourage the filing of complaints, violate the state statutes governing their operation, and aren't held accountable by their supervisor, the director of the MO Labor Department.
