It's not the fact that they are black, it's how they act in public that draws attention to themselves.
ReplyDeleteBeing poor is not an excuse to break the law and breaking the law while black isn't an excuse to say racial profiling is taking place. The real title to this story should be "Blacks break the law more than other races."
ReplyDeleteUpon reading the links here I decided to add to my other comment here. Now as an added bonus I was a witness to an situation at retail store yesterday that involved two blacks both female, mother and daughter by blood from what I over heard being told to the police. Both was using a sit down and ride battery powered shopping cart. Which would have been okay if both had a handicap of some sort. The daughter I am guessing was in her 20's and could bounce around all over the place when she would get off the shopping scooter to get something and neither appeared to have any issues walking or moving as they was escorted from the store by the police. What started the ruckus was the fact they was riding side by side down the aisles and telling anyone they came across to back up so they could get down the aisle due to their disabilities. Well needless to say it pissed people off and upon being confronted by the manager they both launched a oh so since we black you're going to not let us use these. I am guessing the manager had called the police before coming over to where they were at that point and I heard the younger one talking loud several aisles over and thought woo hoo I'm not going to miss this. Cops arrive more talking and they told the women look you can use these but respect others in the store and don't bump into people. (Which I didn't see happen) Well then both women got louder and playing the race game and was asked by the manager to leave the store and the police said you have to leave and they left while scream they was going to sue for harassment. Now both women was walking very well I would have to admit. I paid for my goodies and was leaving the store and the cops had the two women outside writing someone a ticket, they was behind a black SUV with Missouri plates, parked in a HANDICAP spot.
So was these two women racially profiled? Hell no they wasn't. They come over to the golden ghetto intending to cause trouble and just daring anyone to cross paths on them. I'm sorry but when I see stuff as this done by black people on purpose, then play the race game, I each time lose that much more respect for the race as a whole.
Till black people as a whole decide they want to be a part of the humane race and act like so then I guess they will continue to be as they think targets for police actions, but in the end they have nobody but themselves to blame.
ReplyDeleteThe problem is simple: Right at HALF of ALL VIOLENT CRIME is committed by 4% of our population -- BLACK MALES 15-35. Less in rural areas...But MUCH HIGHER RATE IN URBAN AREAS.
So the reality is that Blacks in this country are actually pulled over at a much LOWER RATE than Whites when applied against actual crime numbers.
The concept of "Driving While Black" is based entirely on sophist reasoning and distorted research.

ReplyDeleteWell if that is true Kostner should be sitting in front of an impeachment committee instead of members of the press. I do believe it is his job, in this state, to enforce laws, particularly against failed public officials and institutions. However, we all know Kostner is a pandering, ass kissing, little prick,moron who is so fucking stupid as to complain to the media about a situation he supposedly has withnessed and validated through his study and done absolutely nothing about. Gee! Now who should be responsible to take action on these issues?
I have seen that story Super Dave just told played out hundreds of times.

Profiling blacks is a good idea. It works and is justified by the reality in the streets.
This is what is wrong with using statistics alone to support a position. It is entirely misleading. Let's say I'm a cop in an area that has a predominantly black population, would it then be a sign of "profiling" if I stop and cite predominantly black people? The answer is of course, no. It's a sign that I will most likely observe a violation committed by a black driver because that is the demographic! It is also not a secret that there is a higher police presence in high crime areas, which also happen to be populated by....you get the point.
