A must win for the Kansas City Chiefs right now is going the right way for the moment, but then again, this team doesn't really play in the 2nd half and EVERYONE agrees this is a horrible game to watch . . . Just a few links in the meantime:

  2. Re: Getting rid of Greinke was a good move.

Royals fans who pay attention know better than to think this was the Royals' decision. It was entirely Zack's.

We remember that when Ned Yost started cleaning house in mid-2010, Zack correctly saw yet another "youth movement" coming on, knew it was going to take time, and didn't want to spend the last two years of his contract on a losing team. He wanted to go to a contender. Immediately.

Now guess where they found Escobar and Cain? In the organization Yost just came from. In fact, the trade was widely criticized at the time by those 'experts' who thought the Royals should have gotten more, and some even saying the Royals had better offers on the table, though they couldn't say what those offers were.

People who pay attention to baseball also know that these "stars for prospects" trades don't always work out for the team getting the prospects. There is even a saying about that: Trading one guy who can play for three who can't.

And just in case anyone thinks that Dayton Moore is a shrewd judge of "prospects" here are some that he has traded for: Ryan Shealy, Julio Pimentel, Joey Gathright, Fernando Cortez, Tyler Lumsden, Blake Johnson, Jose Diaz, Russ Haltiwanger, Kyle Davies, Eric Basurto . . .

And I won't even mention the trades for proven players such as Mike Jacobs, Coco Crisp and Yuniesky Betancourt.

  3. Greinke isn't a member of Tony's beloved Dodgers anymore so i guess it's now safe for Tony to bash him. Classy move.

  5. Thank you for posting the link about the firefighters. It's important that we keep them in our hearts and in our prayers along with their families.
