I'm starting to get real tired of seeing black people standing up all the time any more and saying they are being discriminated against. If the students are not being taught right then you Mr. Carpenter are the one who is a failure.
All white schools, like Center, scored well on these tests. That only bolsters his claims.

ReplyDeleteIt isn't racist; it is bullshit. We are going to have a different test for the third year in a row and there is even going to be a different test nest year and possibly the year after. We still haven't seen one sample question for the test in the spring. Common Core was supposed to increase the focus on certain topics and thus increase the depth at which students were supposed to understand and be able to use such knowledge. Instead the laundry list is just as long. Some things that we spent a lot of time on were not even tested. I still haven't seen a report showing what my kids got right or wrong last year. I just got some 4 digit score for a 30 question test that I can't compare to anything.

Lets them it is OK not to achieve because their ancestors a hundred and fifty years ago were deprived as slaves. In sprite of decades of food stamps, free school meals, free rent and clothing, free internet, free medical, free tuition and free everything in general they have no obligation to advance an entire race. We will just make excuses along with already existing laws that make it just fine for them to compete for jobs without any of the prerequisites of other human beings. Not only should be give them more, but we should have out tax payer salaried officials, who are complicit in these test failures, rationalizing this ridiculous bullshit. I have to wonder what ol' Will Rogers would have to say about the whole idea 'casue I don't think we can find anyone alive with any fucking sense left.

The administrator actually referred to the students' low family income, not their race. He assumes, without any proof I would bet, both that low incomes means no home computers, and that no computers means inability to take a test on a computer. These are just the ones on the top of his grab bag of excuses. If they don't pan out as hoped, he will play the rest of his hand, which are all race cards.
ReplyDeleteChildren of color learned when the horrendous number of tests were not authorized. Graduates were employed and served well in governmental institutions,education and other careers. The RACE FACTOR is most prevalent in Missouri - the last slave state in the Union. Test language is another factor in test results. Superintendent Carpenter was sent to Missouri for a reason.

I know a few that work there, and they all say that they, and all their co-workers, are just preparing for longer commutes.
ReplyDeleteThe new Cerner campus will function just like the P&L downtown, a destination venue (like an amusment park) that leaves the surrounding area as empty as a ghost town during off hours.
When Hickman Mills underwent a shift in population, then the test scores started to suffer. Rather than playing the race card, we should not expect less for our students and help them succeed. That should be the goal.

Kids that have shitty parents who are probably drop-outs themselves, have kids that are shitty students. Of the numerous problems black people have is they have zero expectations and hopes for their kids. Only black people encourage their kids to get on welfare, stay uneducated, and have no hopes or dreams (other than being a baller or rapper). How about black "parents" for once be a good role model for their kids? How about you get an education? How about you get a job? How about you take personal responsibility and be self-reliant? Helen Keller's teacher couldn't get through to these morons. Stop blaming everybody else. It is your fault.
ReplyDeleteHickman Mills is one of the lowest paying districts in the metro by a long shot. They pay almost as poor as a charter school. It should come as no surprise they cannot attract or retain the quality instructors needed to improve school performance. My wife was offered a job there, no interview needed, at the K-5 level paying not even $30k /yr. She accepted a job elsewhere making $45/yr. The decision is pretty easy. To attract good talent, you need to pay good wages. All you can get on lowball wages is the Teach for America types that aren't qualified to teach paint by number.

ReplyDelete^Well, she had licensure and had expressed interested in the district when looking for jobs. She did a q & a with HR but what I meant was a formal sit down process with the school's principal. So it wasn't as if she was some yahoo at day labor.
