  5. Mike "Bully" Burke has lawyered himself a win-win situaion where if the deal doesn't go, he can sue the City a-la the Citadel project($20 million settlement to developers)and the Renaissance north project(multi-million settlement to developers).

Last reports are that he was deeply involved in the Renaissance project; which is a small residential and poorly conceived project.

Recall Sly and Vote No on the E-Tax.

  6. No one in local government is scared of voters. Why should they be?

  7. The city says no to voters, the voters have the right to say no to the city..... say, around April.

  8. How many jobs will be accessible to the east side with this hotel?

100 jobs paying $10 per hour is $2 million in payroll.

    for the e-tax comment.

A $100 per year property tax increase is like losing that tax on $10,000 in income.
So if someone making $70k stops paying the e-tax that's $100 more on 7 homes

2/3 of the city lives in Jackson a County.

So the e-tax on white people keeps property taxes low.
It's a form of welfare for the east side.

The sports team alone is worth $100 on 11200 homes.

Voting against the e-tax is a bad idea for most of the city. Financially, rich white people would benefit the most from it going away.
