TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! PETITION AGAINST DOWNTOWN CONVENTION HOTEL STAYS WINNING!!!

Right now a word about petition a successful petition effort that could stall shaky and shady downtown development plans.

The background here is that this citizen petition effort has scared City Hall, the Mayor's office and local media so much that they're now talking about changing the rules to discourage direct democracy.

Take a look:

Hotel Petition Drive Meets with Unparalleled Success

To Citizens for responsible Government and Friends, Today CFRG turned into the City Clerk over 800 additional signed petition signatures. This is almost THREE TIMES the number needed. The support for the petition from the KANSAS CITY voting public was overwhelming. Thanks to those of you who worked getting signatures and / or supported the cause financially. It was a great effort by all.

We will now ask the City Council to put our petition on the next available ballot so the voters can decide if they want their money invested in a project in which they will have no equity. Any profits earned by the Hyatt, including their lucrative catering agreement will not stay in Kansas City. This money will move out of town to Hyatt’s corporate office.

Thanks again to all who supported this effort...

  1. Good deal. We don't need the city supporting another hotel, too.

  2. About time something maybe stays winning in this damn town.

  3. Watch Sly & Co. kick it off the ballot.

If they do, they should be recalled.

  4. The same white people either voted for sly james are petitioning him to reconsider a taxpayer funded hotel? Seems easier not to elect assholes like sly in the first place.

  5. ^^^^^^^^^^Do have a good point!

  6. Those libtards will change the rules in their favor and do what ever it takes to get their way.
Lie, cheat or steal just like Obama we have a leader that shows everyone its okay to do that and just laugh at them if you get caught with your hand in the cookie jar. Those values get passed down mark my words.

  7. Nobody told me that there really wasn't a difference between Burke & Sly during the election. Why do these grifters have total control over the elections?

  8. I love people that write at a 4th Grade level criticisizing anybody.

Give up the "Libtard".....equally stupid as "Toy Train".

  9. The city's next step is to point out that petitions cannot stop projects once actual contracts have been signed and that the hotel contract was purposefully rushed through to avoid a public vote on the subsidies.
    Which will now increase.
    Thanks for playing.
And remember, KCMO really needs your vote for the earnings tax renewal or they'll lay off all the police.
Voter apathy can be really hard to achieve, but once you're there, the sheep are really easy to shear.

  10. ^^^

The next step for people who want to stop this project is to bring it up before council members and call for a revote.

  11. That's a great idea.
It's also a classic example of a victory of hope over experience.
Check out the contributions for Sly and the council during the last election and then place your bets on the outcome of votes.
And check the visitor logs on the 22nd floor of city hall and see how often the same names appear.
Everyone has equal representation. It's just some of the animals are WAY more equal than others.

  12. Don't worry, Mike Burke is a lawyer not a developer. All hat, no cattle. This hotel never gets built!

  13. Come on Tony, call it a TOY HOTEL!

    You know you want to.

    It would be so funny.

Plus, it would get you back on Ruckus!

  14. ^^^^^^
Too bad YOU have never been on any program. Would really like to see what YOU have to say for yourself.

As for the hotel, it's another KC POS. They will not build this boon doggle. If they do, it will bankrupt the city.

  15. Anything to keep more mexicans and illegals from working in the city...

  16. "I love people that write at a 4th Grade level criticisizing anybody."

Obviously you have not reached that level yourself. Product of the KCPS?

  18. Kansas city already is full of hotels that barely get enough business to stay open. Obviously we need one more, bigger than the rest and paid for by the taxpayers.
