TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY ROYALS CRACKDOWN ON MOBILE PHONES AND SOCIAL MEDIA AMID UPCOMING PLAYOFF CLINCH CELEBRATION!!!
As always our AWESOME TKC BLOG COMMUNITY is dedicated to showing the public how Kansas City operates behind the scenes and how that often contradicts public perception.
To wit . . .
TAKE A LOOK AT THESE KANSAS CITY MEDIA GUIDELINES PROMISING CRUEL PUNISHMENT TO ANY JOURNALIST USING MOBILE PHONES FOR REPORTING ROYALS CENTRAL DIVISION CLINCH CELEBRATION!!!
Our MSM friends are shocked that the Kansas City Royals are attempting to thwart social media coverage of the event.
Here's the harsh Internets reality . . .
Click the image but here's the offending clause: "Any media member taking video or photos with a cell phone will be asked to leave the clubhouse and will lose eligibility for postseason credentials."
What does this tell us . . .
- The Kansas City Royals hate the Internets. Surprising given that so many fanboys share their glory online.
- The Royals run their media game like tyrants. Think about how much time is dedicated to the team on local newscasts and then see the organization literally calling the shots with the news.
- The Royals don't understand wireless Internets technology . . . Any decent camera can easily transfer both photos and video to a nearby mobile phone or laptop quickly and clandestinely. In fact, the better news stations run their own mobile wireless networks so that all media is instantly uploaded their servers or the cloud. This "fear of phones" presser isn't just ineffective, it shows a stunning lack of knowledge about how pix and clips are shared.
Take a look:

And so, as the playoffs approach we want to show our blog community that sometimes the Royals organization runs like out of date (taxpayer supported) tyrants and not the plucky home team that people see via media that's approved.
Developing . . .
Don't miss the point here TKC. What the Royals really want is control of their image. The threat to kick out reporters just shows us that they are willing to go to extreme measures in order to threaten the media.
ReplyDeleteThis is not about controlling their image, read the memo posted ... it's about FSKC and Radio 610 protecting their investment, they pay the Royals a lot of money for certain exclusive access (though the FSKC contract is apparently pretty bad for the Royals compared to other MLB teams), and they don't want other reporters infringing on their exclusive access privileges.
ReplyDeleteQuite frankly, nothing to see here ... there will be live video and audio from the locker room (which is pretty hard to control under any circumstance), but FSKC and Radio 610 have exclusive rights to provide that.
Select all images with waffles.
ReplyDeleteOf course Tony is a world renowned Internets expert.
Nothing new here.
ReplyDeleteTony desperately trying to create an issue where there is not one. I know marketing/sales people and this takes various forms for all media.
But this is the internet so it must be true.
Soon, Tony will be applying the same approach to protecting the popular term, TOY TRAIN. God damn that's funny.
9:30 got it. OTOH, waffles.
ReplyDeleteOMG an infringement on the freedom of speech as only Tony defines it. How will there be the pandering to the bigots and trolls who contribute to the hit/traffic count on a blog?
ReplyDeleteYup! it is about broadcast and media transmission rights/licensing. Just like napster. If you wanna play you gotta pay.
ReplyDeleteFYI, Paco does not give a shit about being accurate. If it means a dozen posts stating he has his head up his ass, those count as 12 hits.
ReplyDeleteThen he gets to go to the coffee house and show the waitress his new (minuscule) increase in site traffic.
To which she replies, "ever think of getting a real job and actually contributing positively to the community that you so passionately hate?"
To which Tony responds, "like to hear my arguments about the Toy Train?"
To which she replies, "why do you call it a Toy Train"?
And there "farts guy" is the life of Tony, the blogger whom you so passionately defend.
The nonstop attacks on Tony's credibility ramped up dramatically after he started clowning on the idiotic train idea.
ReplyDeleteIt's not too hard to cipher out who the critics are.
I live in OP and don't have a dog in the fight.
ReplyDeleteDon't confuse most of humanity that tends to tire of endless whining with those who have an opposing view point.
Tony's endless complaining is getting a similar reaction to the guy that I work with that never has anything good to say about anything. If the rest of us could find a way to just shut him up, we would pass the hat in a nanosecond.
Shut up complaining for fucks sakes
ReplyDeleteTop secret Royals info rivaling the Manhattan Project going on at the stadium. Don't let it get out.
ReplyDeleteTony will be a future hobo.
ReplyDeleteNo one makes any real money blogging anymore.
"In fact, the better news stations run their own mobile wireless networks so that all media is instantly uploaded their servers or the cloud."
ReplyDeleteYes! KMBC set up their own mobile wireless network! It only cost them $26 million! Much preferable to using a phone network and paying a few thousand a month!
IN OTHER WORDS....another bogus Tony proclamation goes unnoticed as the stupidest, most ludicrous thing ever.
And yeah, MLB sucks at the Internet! You can't see highlights or watch/listen to games. Can't find anything at all. Why it's like they don't even exist!
The nonstop attacks on Tony's credibility ramped up dramatically after he stopped being credible and started dreaming up stuff.
ReplyDeleteI'd say it was about ten years ago.
Sounds more like The Kansas Shitty Star, buddy. Ijs
DeleteThe Royals will lose. This wont be news then.
ReplyDeleteRoyals are a bunch of overpaid douchebags. Fuck 'em all.
ReplyDelete^^^^^Off topic"""""
ReplyDeleteRoyals are over rated this year, they will lose 1st round
ReplyDeleteNothing to see. Rights holders protecting the rights that cost them beaucoup $$$$.
ReplyDeleteOH THOSE TYRANTS!!! WILL THE TYRANNY AGAINST THE MEDIA EVER STOP?
ReplyDeletehahahaha, jesus, this is too inane even for me.
"KMBC set up their own mobile wireless network! It only cost them $26 million!"
ReplyDeleteAre you using Sprint for your data plan? That's really expensive.
I have a mobile wireless network and router in my car that only costs about $250 a month. I guess most people really don't know a lot about the Internet.
Some rubes came to my neighborhood selling magazines door-to-door.
ReplyDeleteMy response was "no thanks, I've got the internet."
I thought that was a pretty good line.
KC = Detroit except in the playoffs.
ReplyDeleteWho fucking cares. Baseball is so over. The game is dying out because it's so boring.
ReplyDeleteI only watch it for the commercials.
