MUST SEE!!! KANSAS CITY DESPERATELY SEEKING WATER DEPT. BRAND MANAGER!!!



We were thinking about posting a local dead pool tonight but that's way too morbid. Instead let's celebrate life and use Beyoncé as inspiration to step up our game and focus on Kansas City career opportunities.

At the very least, for so many locals staring at their computer screens in a desperate search for more cash during the late night hours . . . Here's a something to consider . . .

CHECK OUT THIS BIG MONEY JOB DEDICATED TO RE-BRANDING THE KANSAS CITY WATER DEPARTMENT!!!

Never mind that an audit rejected by Mayor Sly would be a better start toward building public trust in local infrastructure. Again, we won't get into that because the guy last guy who offered to check KC's Water Department is dead.

Considering the gig, a denizen of our blog community seyz:

"Kansas City has a "Marketing/Brand Manager" for their water department? Seems a bit unnecessary, especially at a salary range of $48K to $78K + benefits per year!"

  3. I don't get this at all. Why does there need to be "a brand"?? Why does it need "marketing" and "brand managing"??

    Any person or business in KC needs city water. There is no competing source.They all will buy it with no brand, no marketing, no managing. The city can charge whatever it wants.

    What the fuck????

    Somebody important has a relative who needs a paycheck. (I woulda said a job, but clearly there will be no job ... just a paycheck.)

  5. I thought this was already done. There have been many who doing it the past couple of years. What little promo out there that the h2o puts out, have been attempting to do so. What has the 12MIL$ for upgrade of tech and billing and 311 been doing- rebranding! This IS a job that has already been accomplished. This is just another layer of foggy interference to distract you some place else. Lets get into the truth of whats going on- not much. Most problem areas (including the corrupt personnel) haven't been addressed. Same old neglect and deferment. Can't rebrand a frog- it is what it is. Waste and where did the money go. A true review of management needs to happen. Is this what our money to the water dept goes? It must not be fun to work there, too much corruption. Mass exodus of employees please. Only way to send a message.

  7. Seems like a bargain if that's all the cost. Even if they do a relatively crappy job. Other communities pay hundy thous if not millions to sell their exclusive water. It's all just propaganda anyway, but it's going to happen. Can't get around that.

  10. This is just another example of the James approach to government as entertainment. All tinsel and glitter, tech, branding, disruption, buzz words, and PR.
    What relatively little money is involved here would be much better spent being part of paying for a serious financial and performance audit of a water department that has been poorly managed and unable to provide the most basic of services, even at ever-higher cost, to residents for decades.
    Just more expensive furniture bought for a house whose foundation is crumbling and falling down.

  13. Last month I used $24 worth of water and it cost me $103 for the priviledge if having no choice. At some point this department will finally get audited by a reputable outside firm and heads will roll. N0 more stealing funds for pet projects, no more phantom jobs, no more 6 employees doing nothing while 2 people work. We need to cut the fat at city hall and it obviously starts with the mayor.
