Kansas City Dead Tree Media Pretends To Pressure Jackson County Exec Mike Sanders Over Jail Guard Prisoner Hot Mess
Generally, people don't care about the prison industrial complex and that's why it has been able to perpetuate to epic proportions over the past generation. As always, we remind folks that the U.S. incarcerates more people than any other industrialized nation and a recent hot mess over guards and prisoners has earned the interest of the newspaper and not a lot of other people. What a crock they chose to cover the jail fbi investigation but not the one on Sanders ,when we will get a fair paper that writes all the news instead of their version of it. I can't wait to read the Post Dispatch article that's coming. Mike treats that paper like they are mushrooms.
ReplyDeleteSanders has been in charge for along time so this problem is his, too bad he wasn't focused like a laser until the Fbi got involved. He is a great con man,and the Star is his target.

ReplyDeleteInstead of all these county jails Missouri should have regional detention facilities. There should be a state certification for corrections people and salaries should be based on a state scale. It is ridiculous that we spend millions maintaining facilities in every county in the state, the supervision, working conditions and standards are completely different from county to county and you have a board of politicians running something they don't really know hack shit about. The counties would literally save billions in property taxes across the state if they would knock off this duplication of effort and infrastructure in every county in the state.
