Kansas City streets are dangerous for a lot of reasons and this year 45 people have been killed in traffic accident deaths so far this year.

NBC Action News: Kansas City Traffic Deaths Up 50 percent; 3 Deaths Away from 2014 Total
This report offers some explanations but here's one that people have, tragically, already forgotten . . .
THIS UPTICK IN KANSAS CITY LOCAL TRAFFIC DEATH COMES IN THE AFTERMATH OF CONTROVERSIAL KANSAS CITY URBAN CORE STOPLIGHT REMOVAL!!!
Remember that residents fought the removal of stop signs and pleaded with City Hall to reconsider the cost saving measure. While some might argue direct correlation, the fact is that streets are statistically unsafer overall after this massive stoplight cutback.
And so, like it or not this is yet another trend suggesting that Kansas City streets are becoming increasingly dangerous for a variety of reasons and some that might start as a consequence of a tighter budget at City Hall.
Developing . . .
Tony, you're missing the big picture here. If you want to find out why KC streets are so dangerous. Blame JoCo Drivers. They're the ones who don't know how to f-ing drive.
ReplyDeleteWait...what? How many of the accidents were at these low traffic intersections? Any?
ReplyDeleteIt's been forgotten because YOU FUCKING PULLED IT OUT OF YOUR ASS!!!
If you could even begin to prove this with statistics that'd be one thing but when you make wild claims and are CLEARLY unable to back them up you'd be better off blaming niggers stealing watermelons.
It makes about as much sense. Make you come across as some sort of goddamned idiot.
^^^^^^^^^
ReplyDeleteActually, I think you're the one sounding like an idiot. Who would defend removing stoplights?
Removing the stop signs last year was a horrible idea that even the Mayor and police disapproved. This time Public Works owes an apology to all of the people who died in these accidents. When you get people speeding through streets at high speeds. They don't slow down for a sign they probably never saw.
ReplyDeleteHere's another thing your missing TKC: This is why drivers should just avoid going through KCMo altogether. Better to stay in the suburbs and avoid a dying city.
ReplyDeleteAnother fabulous Tony Botello Spurious Correlation.
ReplyDeleteTony were you aware the number of letters in the winning word of the Scripps National Spelling Bee correlates exactly to the number of people killed by venomous spiders?? I'd investigate!!! Better call THE FBI!!!

Kansas City drivers are the worst. There are more fatalities because there are more people on the road.
ReplyDeleteThere is hope, the toy train is going to get at least 20 drivers off the street during the morning. That is good news you need to report!
ReplyDeletePolice chases also need to be mentioned. There are more people killed fleeing from police this year. We need to develop a new policy that protects innocent lives and from being endangered simply because of unpaid parking tickets.
ReplyDeleteThere are policies in place that limit what they can chase for. At least three of this years fatalities have been after officers have disregarded pursuits and the drivers kept going. Judges holding offenders accountable for the danger they create is the real change rather than a slap on the wrist probation
DeleteIndependence PD on the other hand chases anything that runs
DeleteHey 3rd, it's really KCK that needs a better policy. They are starting to kill more people during chases too.
ReplyDeleteTHIS UPTICK IN KANSAS CITY LOCAL TRAFFIC DEATH COMES IN THE AFTERMATH OF THE KANSAS CITY ROYALS BEING IN FIRST PLACE ALL SUMMER!!!
ReplyDeleteHey look my spurious correlation is as good as Tony's!
Anyone else notice that last year when the royals were winning the homicide rate was down the most since they last won the World Series. This year were having a good year in both areas until three weeks ago when the royals start losing a lot, the homicides increase.
DeleteActually 13 of the dead were niggers, so what we have is a total of 32 HUMAN fatalities. you wouldn't count other non-human fatalities. why count niggers?
ReplyDeleteHere are some facts I found suprising. 31 percent of automobile accidents involve alcohol. This does not mean that alcohol is blamed as a factor - just that one of the involved drivers had consumed SOME alcohol and that alcohol may not even be a contributing factor. For example a drinking driver is stopped at a traffic light and gets his from behind that counts as an alcohol related accident even though the booze didn't have anything to do with the cause of the accident.
ReplyDeleteNow here is the kick in the ass. The National Safety Council says that cell phones are a DIRECT factor in 30 percent of all automobile accidents. So here you have MADD and all these other groups screaming about booze and cell phones are likely more dangerous factors in car accidents than alcohol.
If I had a nickel for the times each day I have to avoid, dodge, freaking watch out for a damn clown using his/her cell phone while driving I would be rich, but for some reason all these politically correct libtards will not outlaw cell phones in the passenger compartment of cars. Fuck logic. I want my toy.
Jermaine Reed and his bright ideas. Now, the preacher that challenged him on it has lined up with the SCLC, Freedom, Inc. crowd. It's too bad we won't every find and have talented leadership on from the Third District. This is the best we could hope for: circus acts and carnival shows. Step right up...
ReplyDelete@1011. Grab hard, pull your head out. The Dems are the ones the jump to a regulative approach to deal with these types of issues.
ReplyDeleteThat said, the damn things need to be immobilized when the phone is in a car. The technology is there.
And stop using Libtard. it's stupid.
i would take the bus, but it smells.
ReplyDelete8:06 is Pat Klein. He gets teasty when people complain about the incompetence from the Public Works Dept. He believes his ideas, strategy and outcomes are the only things that matter; and the rest of us should just move. Get rid of him, we make strides towards making KC a safe and enjoyable place to live.
ReplyDeleteSo the city removes stop lights in some neighborhoods but they just put a new one in in a new crosswalk they created between Childrens Mercy and Hallmark--across Gillham in what has to be the least safe place to cross. Watch for pedestrians to be hit--at leastt they'll be close to a hospital. This is crazy--but they put those bumps there so blind people will know where the street hits the curb. This is going to be a big problem.
ReplyDeleteIf people don't know how to stop at stop signs, that's their damn fault. As for drunk drivers, those guys will run red lights anyhow or do things such as drive with their headlights off at night.
ReplyDelete10:56 is a libtard. They think they define stupid.
