Not seeing the "swap" as measured in Yael's rendition here. Is this chamber puffed?
ReplyDeleteAll those inner burbs got more blacks (and other nonwhites) lately, but not many in far suburban and pricier areas. Blacks moved from the core to mostly apartments, smaller homes and shared homes in farther burbs.
In my own very large family, the younger have not stayed in inner burbs or cities past college. Seems more millenials love SoJoCo more than any other. Hardly ever empty homes there resale or new, and building more $250K and up "starters" and 3% interest helps! Liberty is hot now. Basehor and semi rural Leav. is growing. Strawberry Hill's looking full, but a third of the dumps finally got demolished and only a few rebuilt.
Only reason the black population is going down is they are killing each other.

DeleteIn KCMO, hipsters are moving downtown, blacks who have any interest in their kids' education or living in safe neighborhoods are heading for the suburbs, and whites with any sense and actual jobs are buying into new sub-divisions north of the river.

ReplyDeleteBlacks are definitely moving to the burbs and hood rats are spending more time out in the burbs as well since it's there's more for them to rob.
