Two years ago this week Kansas City endured one of the most brutal homicides of a mother and her child and the murder remains unsolved.
The anniversary is being touted on social media but they've got the date wrong . . .
On August 23rd, 2013 Damiah White and her mother were slaughtered in an East Side apartment.

As of late there is a lot of talk about progress in the fight against time and homicide count reduction. While the valiant effort to fight crime deserves acknowledgement, it's also worth noting that the people who murdered a woman and her innocent child are likely still at large in this town and since Damiah White was killed there are been even more children in Kansas City who have died by way of gunfire.

ReplyDeleteAlmost half the homicides in KCMO are NEVER solved, because there's so little cooperation by residents with the police and no east=side leadership to encourage people to do so.
ReplyDeleteAs long as that goes on, all the marches, demands, protests, vigils, and speeches in the world aren't going to change much of anything.
It's 2015, the glory days of the 1960s are long over and have degenerated into endless excuses for self-destructive and criminal behavior.
Way past time for putting the responsibility for all the senseless murders squarely where it belongs and becoming a part of the safety of each of our own neighborhoods.
Where's the leadership for that?
By now dozens and dozens of people in the "community" know who did this yet it's still not solved. Black people get what they deserve.
