TKC NOTE: Take a glimpse at this Insider perspective on all the recent Jackson County Courthouse shenanigans this week . . . Local media is too busy grabbing presser copy to cope with this ongoing hot mess.
This Week In Jackson County
For a variety of reasons, have kept my information and powder dry on this topic for awhile. But as this appears to have largely run its course from a legal standpoint (other than the dead tree media attempting to play catch-up with the internet), I feel like I can weigh in with what I know or have known for sometime:
The initial line of questioning was to determine whether Diehl and the Governor worked out some form of a landing pad for Burke in Jaxo, as well as with her other gigs around the state. There appears to be no "there" there and nothing more will come of this as the "boys" are now quietly moving on to the next brush fire in the recent Jeff City saga (more on that later). However, there are a few important lessons that insiders have learned from all of this:
1. Fortunately, for us, the current chair of the legislature, Dan Tarwater, has a penchant for talking too much and too loudly with almost anyone willing to stand still for more than 5 seconds. In short, there is no county story if Dan doesn't see fit to tell the world that he was asked questions. What I found most surprising, though, was his willingness to openly talk about his being interviewed/investigated by the FBI "numerous times" during his tenure on the legislature about himself, dating all the way back to the Bill Warris days. In short, every time there has been an issue over the last 20 or so years, Dan always seems to be in the room or involved somehow. Eventually, his 9 lives will have run out . . . We are learning how slippery and greasy Dan is.
2. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, could have handled this any worse than Cathy Jolly. I hate to be cynical, but these types of inquiries have become fairly common place in the last 10 years. For example, Kansas City, and even this mayor, have lived through no less than a dozen or so over that time frame. Its becoming a part of doing business. Why did we not read about them? One reason: Lynn Horsley, the laziest reporter know to western civilization. But I digress. The point is that Jolly, when she heard that someone may want to ask her some questions, pretty much ran out of the courthouse like she was on fire and wasn't seen or heard from in almost 3 weeks. That was, in the common parlance, a "dick" move as she was the one who SEEMINGLY brought Burke to the dance but clearly wanted to throw someone, ANYONE, under the bus "just in case." Now that everything appears to be blowing over, she is back at her perch on the cheerleader bench trying to act as if she never lost her mind. Look for Ms. Jolly to leave fairly soon to seek "other career opportunities."
3. Consider the JAXO flap a bland garnishment on a much MUCH meatier and spicier entrée that will begin to unveil itself RE: Jeff City and its politicos over the next several months, maybe a bit longer. The onion in Jeff City is being peeled, and several state politicos are already starting to cry. If the lid does come off in Jeff, look for this to get national coverage.

The damage and carnage the outgoing council will create in their mad rush to pass everything and anything no matter how economically, socially, and ethically unsound in the next three weeks should be everyone's biggest concern right now.

ReplyDeleteYou have lost your focus. Sure Jolly went mad. That is her one redeeming quality. However, this investigation is turning over many rocks.
Like the Tindall backdoor deal on the housing department. Why did Annette LePique and Ann Macgregor allow Sanders to give so much money to Tindall?
ComBat. Now that is one area nobody in the executive office wants to have FBI looking over. Tindall, Nunnelly and that ship of fools just doling out tons of money.
All of those friends of Sanders getting sweet jobs while the real County workers make on average $31,000 a year. Wow!
There is lots to see beyond the Jeff City hanging dick show.
If the FBI pulled out then they are just as lazy as Sanders.
Libel is fun, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteThe Jolly description was quite accurate. She is a train wreck.
ReplyDelete10:59 ohhh scary! Get back to pretending to work at the Courthouse.
ReplyDeleteNo way Sanders will start a lawsuit. Depositions are a two way BITCH.
But I digress - - (other than the dead tree media attempting to play catch-up with the internet)
ReplyDeleteI think you blew your "insider" cover Tony with these two sentences.
LMAO!
Why does Jackson County think that it can operate in secret? Why do they get to play soap opera games with our money?
ReplyDeleteIn CK we are not allowed to criticize our elected officials or government workers. We are discouraged from voting too.
ReplyDeleteGlover and Marcason's last hurrah - We are starting to bring Broadway Back
ReplyDeleteThe City Council has lent its support to a redevelopment idea that could bring 500 new residents to Midtown around 34th and Broadway.
The proposal is to convert the seven-story MGE Building into 100 apartments and add mixed-use development, retail and office space. It also includes plans to build two new 54-unit apartment buildings on Washington Street and 20 townhouses on Pennsylvania.
Following the same action by the City Plan Commission earlier in the week, the council approved expanding a Planned Industrial Expansion Authority district next to the property to include the site. That makes the project eligible for tax abatement and allows mixed-use development on the site.
You spammy bitches make me heart love you more!
ReplyDeleteTony gets the juice and the back story every time!
ReplyDeleteHeh, heh...

ReplyDeletebut here's the thing: he worships niggers and you hate them. What's up with that? How can you like someone who adores jigaboos so much?
