Better get Obama and Cleaver and have them build some section 8 housing up north. That will keep those racist bastards who actually work for a living from abandoning their obligation to support the entitlement milkers.
ReplyDeleteOnce a hotbed of dangerous crime, the area near The Paseo and Independence Avenue is now a lively immigrant neighborhood on the upswing. Kids — young Somalis, Mexicans, Bhutanese, Vietnamese, Burmese — pass their summers playing ball in the streets and parks, filling the air with shouts and laughter.
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHAHAHA! The Slyster Star strikes again!!
Written by Austin Huguelet, a college student apparently interning at the Star for the summer.

ReplyDeleteDamn, makes me wanna move there. Such diversity and culture.
Now I can get murdered in 7 or 8 different languages. Not just Ebonics.
pass their summers running in the streets and parks dodging bullets, filling the air with shouts and screams.
ReplyDeleteThat would be more honest.
ReplyDeleteSucessful stories of the urban core bother me, because they do not fit my narrative and make me feel like people are questioning the validity and intelligience of my own suburban lifestyle choice.
I'm not sure why I feel like other areas have to be made to appear to fail, in order for me to feel successful, but thats just how it works in my fragile psyche. I usually respond to any such positive news from the urban core with laughably hyperbolic near-hysteria, often involving imaginary threats from racialized boogeymen.
Also, I sometimes fear my penis might not be big enough for women to really be satisfied by it, and a secretly wonder if they all laugh at me behind my back. I'm sure that's unrelated.
Thanks for the amateur psychiatry, 4:30pm, but it looks like you'd do better sticking to your barista work making kale smoothies and cold brew free trade coffee.
ReplyDeleteSly and his merry band of millenials can stretch reality only so far and even if every obscure web zine in the country buys into all the hype, people who actually live in the metro know what a load of crap most of these grandiose schemes actually are.
And expensive!
With bonds in the tens of millions lasting for decades.
Safe neighborhoods, good schools, responsible local government, good streets and sidewalks, and all the rest may not appeal to your 24 year-old tastes, but for adults it's really what they're looking for.
KCMO: the innovation and arts capital of the world!
Hahahahahahahaha!!
