Kansas City Minimum Wage Increase Pushback Thanks To Mayor Sly Blunder

Once again, it's worth nothing one thing about the petition chaos in the upcoming fair wage frenzy among so many groups . . .

IF MAYOR SLY HAD SIMPLY INFORMED RESIDENTS THAT MISSOURI STATUTES SPECIFICALLY FORBID MUNICIPALITIES FOR RAISING THE MINIMUM WAGE ON THEIR OWN THEN KANSAS CITY WOULDN'T BE CONFRONTED BY SO MANY COMPETING PETITIONS AND COULD EASILY DISMISS THEM ALL!!!

Moreover . . .

Mayor James said: ""I know the risks, but I will take that risk . . ."

And here we are . . .

Think about that next time the Mayor attempts to blame citizen initiative petitions for problems that HE CREATED with his own lack of leadership and divergence from Missouri rules & regs.

  1. How do we sign the petition to get the removal of this onto the ballot?

How, exactly, does the Sly one propose to fund the risk that he takes? In reality, it's the taxpayer that takes the risk while the Mayor reaps the populist rewards by looking like the hero for the common man. If the actors were more talented, we'd call this theater.

  7. how else do you think Mayor McNigger is going to get his POS family to make a decent living?

  8. They don't need to rescind the ordinance. Anyone in KC with a business has standing in this. Simply file a motion requiring the city to show cause and block the implementation of the ordinance. Force the city jackasses to either shit or get off the pot.

As an alternative file a writ of man damus forcing the state to enforce it's own laws.

  9. This won't impact just fast food. Many clerical and other service jobs don't pay $15/hr. So what happens then, a number of clerical and service workers lose their jobs too. Yeah, this thing is a real job creator.

  10. Has anyone seen what has happened in Seattle? They raised the minimum wage and guess what happened? Now the people getting $15 an hour are making too much money for their subsidized housing. So guess what they are wanting to do about it? They have asked their employers to work less hours so they make less money for their subsidized housing. I too used to make minimum wage. I was 15 and worked at Burger King. But I got an education and moved on to better jobs. You aren't supposed to flip burgers your entire life. You're supposed to be able to find other better jobs, like most people do. And before you think I'm some conservative, I'm not. I used to be in a union and all of the males before me were union. In fact, I think this country would be far better off it were more like the 1950's than it is now. That said, the French fries station isn't supposed to be a career, it's supposed to be a stop on the way to something better.

  11. What about little gay boy Reed who received so much praised for this pushing effort. I asked same the question from the beginning what about state law. Now I see they couldn't. Great more red tents at city hall.
