TKC SUNDAY SPECIAL!!! KANSAS CITY NORTHLAND COUNCIL CONTENDER HEATHER HALL EARNS 'BEST POLITICAL NEWBIE' FROM TKC BLOG COMMUNITY!!!

Sunday is a good time to brush aside the typical cynicism and hateration that surrounds Kansas City politics and celebrate some good news.
To wit . . .
OUR TKC BLOG COMMUNITY IS EXCITED BY THE NEWBIES RUNNING FOR COUNCIL THIS TIME AROUND AS NORTHLAND CONTENDER HEATHER HALL LEADS THIS FIELD OF STRONG CONTENDERS!!!
This poll among our subscriber and most active community denizens was sent to THOUSANDS AND EARNED HUNDREDS or responses, so much so that it took a bit of time to compile. Now, here are the results . . . To a simple question: "Who is your favorite newbie running for City Council this time around?"
The results were varied and there seemed to be some genuine excitement around these candidates for our blog community that has consistently encouraged new people to participate in the local Democratic process.
Check it:
Heather Hall: 41.2%
Coming off new endorsements from IAFF Local 3808, KC FOP Lodge 99 & 102, and the West Central Missouri Regional Lodge 50, Heather Hall has a great deal of momentum as this housewife and now Conservative champion attempts to oust an incumbent.
Quinton Lucas: 29.4%

Quinton Lucas is the mainstream favorite of Kansas City's political elite and a recent Pitch cover story confirms that hopes for his term are high.
Jameka Kendrix: 17.6%

Running against incumbent Councilman Jermaine Reed, Ms. Kendrix touts her activism within the KCPS and community support as a key to victory against an incumbent who has a much larger bank account and a bevy of elite connections.
Jay Hodges: 10.0%
This newbie from the Northland is another underdog who has an impressive cash reserve but nowhere near as much name recognition as his opponent Teresa Loar. In a low voter turnout election, Insiders wonder if a series of mailers that his camp has planned will make the difference. Hampering Mr. Hodges is an affiliation with Mayor Sly that isn't winning him Northland support and an inability to draw any votes in the Southland. On the bright side, just about everybody who meets Jay Hodges is impressed with his much more relaxed and affable demeanor now that he's no longer working for the Mayor.
Dennis Anthony: 1.8%
Dennis Anthony has very loyal fans and for his first time running for office, a set of strange circumstances propelled him into the primary with the disqualification of Theresa Garza Ruiz. Win or lose, Mr. Anthony's involvement in the 5th District race is an encouraging sign that running a clean and honest campaign is still important to many local residents.
Honorable Mention: Dan Fowler
Mr. Fowler doesn't have an opponent BUT his campaign season is so boring that he jokes he will be opposing himself. Fact is, we can't find anybody who says anything but high praise of Mr. Fowler, we'll keep trying . . .
##########
None of these candidates have run for political office previously and while it's looking like the upcoming June 23rd election will host EVEN LOWER TURNOUT than the primary . . . More newbies taking part in Kansas City politics is one of the few hopeful signs for Kansas City's political future.
Developing . . .
I voted for Dan, and I hope he starts running a negative campaign.
ReplyDeleteSome NIGGER named "Jameka".....What a choice.
ReplyDeleteCover the Aja James bikini story. Not this boring shit.
ReplyDeleteLucas can't be trusted.
ReplyDeleteCum Guy in 4-3-2-1
ReplyDeleteMore on Sly's trickle up economics plan please. The fountain effect.
ReplyDeleteMeh.... Aja James bikini post will put eyeball hits through the roof for the rest of the day. Give this place a desperately need boost.
ReplyDeleteSly's economic theory is neither trickle down or trickle up.
ReplyDeleteIt's toilet bowl economics. Flushenomics.
Thumbs up on the bikini! Inquiring minds want to know! To wit......
ReplyDelete4:06 PM Her mother named her that. I'm sure if you could choose she would not choose that name for herself. How is it her problem that she was given a name you don't like at birth. Nobody complains about all of the Jims, Sue's, Bob's Bill's Jennifer's, Krista's, Christen's, Kristen's, Chris's, Don's, Andrew's, Andy's, Scott, etc. You are crazy. White people could stand to diversify. Get over it. People will rant about anything, even if it is nonsensical... or maybe especially if it is nonsensical. Grow up.
ReplyDeleteShow the poll results....I think the vote was fixed so Tony's girl would come in first. He's been carrying the water for her for some time now.
ReplyDeleteI hate all people named Heather. A bunch of brats, self-aggrandizing @$$holes.
ReplyDeleteTKC BLOG COMMUNITY Be EXCITED BY Da NEWBIES RUNNING Fo'COUNCIL Dis TIME AROUND AS NoatHLAND CONTinDER HEATHER HALL LEADS Dis FIELD Uv STRONG CONTinDERS!!!
ReplyDeleteShould We Raise The Voting Age?
ReplyDeleteShould a person or group that has never experienced what is known by all as “real life” while simultaneously being seen by many legal standards as not having the full credentials to be recognized as an “adult” have the ability to vote while they’ve never been responsible for anything more than “school” and in many cases not subject to feel the direct consequences of their votes until some 8 years or even longer after the age of 18?
Settle down.
ReplyDeleteYoung people generally don't "rock the vote."
Heather Hall = Luann Ridgeway crony
ReplyDeleteLike 18 to 21 years old kids really understand or even give a shit about what the long term damage a $250 million toy train extension will do to their balance sheets when they need the money the most?
ReplyDeleteSo who had 23 as the over/under on total non sequitur anti-streetcar references for today?
DeleteNone of this makes a bit of difference.
ReplyDeleteAfter the election, whoever wins will be summoned to show up at the Chamber offices where the developers, attorneys, planners, bond law firms, construction companies, and the rest of the insider swells who actually run KCMO for their own benefit will instruct them on what they'll do and how they'll be spending YOUR money for the next four years.
And after that meeting, they'll be able to run the gauntlet through the ranks of the usual east side revs and associated grifters to get their marching orders about how much tax money is the east side's "fair share" and through whose hands the money should flow.
The the newbie elected folks are free to continue to attend their endless luncheons, meetings, town halls, and all the rest and make believe they actually have anything at all to do with governing the city.
Predicting is really easy when nothing has changed for decades.
@740, yes the insightful and thoughtful commentators should be shaping the local political policies.
ReplyDeleteSure thing.
People on here are friggin delusional.
You may be right, 7:40, but those millions numbers are really big and hard to understand, especially when you have a home ec major and poly sci minor and also some audited classes in bronze sculpture.
ReplyDeleteHow long will it take to pay off $250 million in bonds and will I still be working at Starbucks when it's done.
Thanks,
Caleb
Heather Halls presence is a barometer of police power in Kansas city
ReplyDeleteFuck you 4:50, what's your fucking name, Rastus?? Remus, Jasper or Willie? Probably some ape-assed NIGGER name.
ReplyDeleteYou need to learn how to communicate ^^^^^^^^^ 504.
ReplyDeleteYour language reflects your upbringing.
Respectful communication is a sign of wisdom.
This is more a facsinating reflection of the Tony's Johnson County readership and how totally out-of-touch it is with Kansas City, and, indeed, reality.
ReplyDeleteCum Guy must be on vacation or out of Viagra........otherwise he would fuck Heather in the ass and cum on her tits and maybe her hair.

Hall was admonished by Commerce Bank executive Jonathan Kemper at a Citizen's Association screening; he said she had offered vague answers to detailed questions about the city budget and infrastructure needs.~ Pitch
