Kansas City 3rd District At-Large Candidate Stephan Gordon Calls Out Media And Endorsement Favorite Quinton Lucas
3rd District At-Large candidate Rev. Stephan Gordon recently sent our blog community an e-mail regarding the community connection of his opponent who currently holds the lead by an overwhelming margin in terms of campaign funds and big name Kansas City endorsements.
Just now he followed it with this urgent missive. Here is an excerpt:
"In fact that is the issue right now in Kansas City with the current council, voters do not trust them. They vote money for one thing and use it for something else. If you do not believe honesty is important to voters, and that you are really doing the voter a favor by helping hide the truth that's on you. As a minister I will always seek the truth and the email I sent you this morning is the true every single word of it. When I find the truth , I will put it out there no matter how mainstream media attempt to hide it.
One again TKC it seems like you are campaigning for Mr Lucas. I wish you would just post what I sent you about Friday nite debate and let the voters decide for themselves if it was negative campaigning or truth seeking."
That's just a behind the scenes missive to show readers what I have to put up with in our never-ending pursuit of the THE SCOOP and some chuckles . . .

Re: Debate Friday nite at Brush Creek Community center
It has taken the entire election season to get some honest answers about Quinton Lucas.
On Friday nite there was a ďebate for 3rd District candidates and we had the opportunity to ask each other questions. I asked Mr. Lucas what public school did he attend in the Kansas City Missouri School District. His answer was none. He went to public school in Hutchinson, Kansas.
Over a year ago he came before the Baptist Ministers Union and he stated that his family moved all over the 3rd & 5th districts, but in an article in the Pitch last week he said he was raised on the East side. He can't have it both ways. I believe honesty is a real issue with politics. I was really surprised by his actions as well as his mother's during the debate as they were clearly upset at my questions. I merely asked questions to get some clarification.
In my opinion, Mr. Lucas has no real ties to this community, he moved back to Kansas City as an adult in 2009. So he really has not lived through the hard times of the 3rd District. I am confused as to why citizens in the 3rd District would put their welfare in the hands of someone who clearly has not been honest with them, has no ties to this community, and seems to have something to hide which means we will get more of the same--nothing--that we have been getting for years.

ReplyDeleteHe is not from the Third District or Fifth District. Why didn't he run in Hutchinson, KS where he's actually from or Lawrence, KS where he works full-time. His mother should be ashamed for endorsing his dishonesty. Yet another example of the Black problem in this City and country overall.
Christians believe a lie before they seek out the truth. Stop crediting God with Quinton's dishonesty.
Black people always complaint and then they turn around and support characters like Lucas. Sure, Lucas is intelligent but he should be intelligent enough to know that his candidacy in the Third District doesn't pass the sniff test and voters should vote against his fraud; and not endorse it. He lined up with the right bunch of frauds - Freedom, Inc. Anybody willing to be used by this organization should be questioned.

I think I’ll spend tomorrow cleaning my bathroom. It will have a greater impact on the business-as-usual politics of kansas city than anything happening at the polls.

Jesus is watching you and your Romaine Catholic Church will not save you from judgement if you keep disintegrating a man of the cloth, a solider of Jesus, standing between you and Satan. The Reverend Gordon has devoted his life to the service of the Lord. Do I get an Amen?!? There is a demagogic change coming to the map of Kansas City and we need men of the cloth like the Reverend Gordon to lead us. Congressman Reverend (don’t ever forget he is a man of the cloth) Cleaver ain’t getting any younger so we need new and younger reverends to pick up the torch from him. Reverend Gordon has always thought of others rather than himself and that is why he went into politics. He wants to fornicate and pontificate his community from one of weakness to one of strength. I would like to say more but I am away from the Missionary Style Baptist Church on a scatological writing another diverticulitis for another degree so I can be a Doctor Doctor.
