Former 5th District City Council Challengers Endorse
Former challengers for the 5th District City Council seat, Lance Conley, Ed Bell, and Bilal Muhammad have all pledged their support for Alissia Canady to represent the 5th District.
Canady received the most votes in the April primary and will advance to the General Election and face the second place contender, Ken Bacchus on Tuesday, June 23, 2015.
Lance Conley finished third in the April primary, noted Canady’s dedication to neighborhood concerns and her expertise in dealing with crime reduction. "She is exactly the type of new leadership that the 5th District desperately needs."
Ed Bell commented “Ms. Canady will be a strong advocate for communities in the 5th District as we look forward to her continuing service to make a better Kansas City.”
Bilal Muhammad, a retired firefighter and U.S. veteran said "Alissia Canady will be a fresh yet formidable advocate for the 5th District. She will bring a consistent and engaging voice to the City Council on behalf of everyday people."
Conley, Bell and Muhammad all ran passionate campaigns for the 5th District City Council seat. Their platforms shared many of the same values and ideas as Canady's: neighborhood revitalization, crime reduction, and enhancing entrepreneurship opportunities in the 5th.
"I'm honored to have the endorsements of these gentlemen,” Canady said. “I respect them as community leaders, and I pledge to earn the votes of everyone who supported them in the primary."

"neighborhood revitalization, crime reduction, and enhancing entrepreneurship opportunities"
ReplyDeleteStop the presses! No candidate for city council has EVER said those things before! (Sarcasm alert!)
So how about telling us how she intends to do any or all of the above?
After all, talk is very cheap, especially right before an election.
anybody but Ken. That is a slogan she should use. It would be more honest.
ReplyDeleteSo if she turns out to be exactly like Ken? Or even worse?
ReplyDeleteYou don't care, as long as she's not Ken.
Please recall that Bacchus was one of the candidates with habitual problems paying his own taxes!!!
ReplyDeleteNO WAY you can represent the people when you don't even pay your own taxes!!!
OK, that's a very good reason not to vote for Bacchus.
ReplyDeleteNow what does Canaday stand for? Oh yeah. "Neighborhood revitalization, crime reduction and enhancing entrepreurship opportunities."
Just because you are dead set against one candidate, don't give a free pass to the other.
If you really want change, hold their feet to the fire and get them to talk specifics.
Is Canady Mayor Sly's vote? Ken Bacchus has City Council experience to hit the ground running. Be careful about who you support in this race and don't believe everything you hear!
ReplyDeleteGood question for, say, a blogger who is anti-Sly to ask, wouldn't you think?
ReplyDeleteAnd even if he finally asked a candidate a specific question, will he settle for a meaningless, boilerplate "I will be my own person" answer?
This NIGGER is just as good as that NIGGER.
ReplyDeleteYou know, even if she is on Sly's team (She's not) I would support her over Ken Bacchus. We need new people getting involved in KC government. If we keep electing the same people we will get the same results.
ReplyDeleteBacchus is the one candidate Sly James is most afraid of in this election. Canady is bought and paid for by the Mayor, and now these three stooges.

ouch, 'nuf said.
Afraid she may be a buddy of Sly's. That is too bad cause she is a nice person but we don't need Sly to have anymore votes stacked up. I think she needs some more experience with other areas instead of law. She's a lawyer and Sly is a lawyer.
ReplyDeleteCanady is aligned with the Mayor, she has no one else. Way to let Peters Baker pimp you out!
ReplyDeleteFat, NIGGER princess that's still a better vote than that deadbeat Bacchus.
ReplyDeleteBacchus is worth less than you imagine. Canaday can be talked with. Her vote will not be for SALE.
ReplyDeleteYou sure have a lot to say to be anonymous LOL
