This blog doesn't make endorsements BUT we do identify noteworthy trends in Kansas City before the mainstream media ever takes notice.
To wit . . .
TKC TIPSTERS TELL US TO LOOK OUT FOR THESE COUNCIL CANDIDATES PROVIDING A ROAD BLOCK TO MAYOR SLY AND THE TOY TRAIN STREETCAR!!!
Here's the word for Sunday . . .
"This is a list of candidates that appear to be friendly to the concept of not wasting more money on the streetcar."
1st District-at-large: Jeff Roberts
2nd District-at-large: Teresa Loar
3rd District-at-large: Stephan Gordon
4th District-at-large: write in-Tony Botello
5th District-at-large: Lee Barnes
6th District-at-large: none
3rd District: Jamekia Kendrix
4th District: none
5th District: Ken Bacchus
6th District: Terrence P. Nash
#########
Developing . . .
Ken Bacchus ought to worry more about paying his own bills, that those of the city. What a fucking deadbeat!!
ReplyDeleteDoesn't matter who gets elected. The voters have spoken:
ReplyDelete1. The streetcar will be expanded through midtown to the plaza, by the voters who want and value real modern transit options and understand the importance of viable transit for the future of the city, which is fine, since they are the ones who will pay for it.
2. East side and northeast are just fine with the buses they have now, which is cool, since the west side pays for those, too.
Cleaver doesn't worry about paying his bills and look where he is.
ReplyDeleteThey do understand that the deal is they will work for an evil man — evil in a way that only those who believe in the physical reality of the Devil can understand it and not the voters and citizens right?
ReplyDeleteHaha! Gonzo!
ReplyDeletePeople should have the right to live in the urban core of any city, own a car and thrive without having to use public transportation.
ReplyDeleteWe should outlaw all streets so I can ride my bicycle around and not have to pay attention to anything!
ReplyDeleteThe City needs to start ticketing and towing all these god damn construction workers parking their pickup trucks downtown!!! This is a walkable environment!!! We shouldn't have to walk around pickup trucks!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI believe the first ritual is they will have to sign their resignations for Sly before given the oath.
ReplyDeleteIn order to be part of the Sly administration, you have to be able to smile, and shake someones hand while stabbing them in the back at the same time.
ReplyDeleteHow do we know what Jeff Roberts stands for? He hasn't given any interviews or appeared at any forums.
ReplyDeleteI'm writing in Tony Botelo! 4th District at large! Go, Tony!
ReplyDeleteMaybe in time they can run tourist stagecoaches down the trolley right of way. It would serve the same purpose. It would be very nostalgic and would look good on a KCMo postcard.
ReplyDeleteI am really glad to see this list, I have saved it and plan on sharing it. At least now I can vote in the coming election, before it didn't seem worth it. I don't think anyone at city hall realizes how pissed off a lot of us are having the streetcar rammed down our throats. We want real light rail.
So do the streetcar people. And if you ever want to see real light rail in KC or even real BRT streetcar expansion is the first step.
ReplyDelete9:21am you are right on target. They block of streets which are then used for parking by construction workers. Let them pay to park like the rest of us.
ReplyDelete"Doesn't matter who gets elected. The voters have spoken:"
ReplyDeleteAnd they said no. Grow the fuck up and get over it, 8:29, you whiny-assed crybaby.
Jebuz Paco, your site has migrated from a local public policy site to a bunch of bitch-and-moaning sniveling whiners. For the love of God, how many times can people continue to bite on the infamous "Toy Train" bait.
ReplyDeleteYou got better game than this pandering for hits.
Guy that spends his days JUST waiting to post his bigoted hate because he gets off on that? Bear? Cum guy?
Seriously?
Oh wait, the sniff farts. Mensa Boy, Hard Charger, libtard crew.....All that see themselves as funny or amusing.
Change from the trajectory that most blogging for attention takes, i.e., meaningless drivel.
Oh, in closing:
Mensa Boy in 3-2-1
Hard Charger in 3-2-1
Libtard in 3-2-1
9:52am - you are right. But an unknown quantity is a lot better than Scott Wagner.
ReplyDelete11:38 is just another paid toy train cheerleader renter kale urban futurist industrial complex consultant kiddie corps barista faux lumberjack that also will profit bajillions from toy train boondoggle unsightly overhead wires and ZOMG PARKING AND TRAFFIC!!!!! KALE.
ReplyDeleteAlso he's Russ Johnson Mensa boy! Kale!
Hahahhahahahhahahahahahahah! Amirite? Guys? Guys?!? Tell me how right I am!
Come on guys!!!!!!! I said KALE!
Oh, you're so right, and so clever! Keep it up. You'll win votes every time you post.
ReplyDeleteDon't need to win votes. They're already there. But you guys desperation is fun to watch.
ReplyDeleteCitizens are not going to take on further long term debt and liability to provide slow and rickety trolley cars attached to overhead wires so a few toy train advocates living downtown can go to bars in Westport and the Plaza.
ReplyDeleteIf a person living in the 1st district, for example, can represent a person living in the 3rd district, then a person living in West Virginia can represent the 3rd district.
ReplyDeleteIn fact, I could do a better job from here. Write in: Byron Funkhouser for 3rd district at large.
yeah I'll be writing in HONORARY NIGGER Tony Botello.
ReplyDeleteSort of like an honorary shitsniffer.
8:46 is almost right, except the NIGGER is the physical embodiment of the devil anymore.
ReplyDeleteToot toot! You're a hoot, 12:32!
ReplyDeleteOMG, if people disagree they must eat kale!
ReplyDeleteFrigging deep thinker 1208.
Are you a hard charger?
There is absolutely nothing new about the ridicule associate with the whiners on this site.
Kale? OH< that's a new one.
Dickhead nazi Byron. At large candidates represent the city as a WHOLE. They are however elected by district boundaries
