Another story of KCNoVa success offers this moment of Zen and should ease the tension in our root chakra knowing that more weapons are off the street: Buddhist teacher turns over dozens of guns to KC Police to be destroyed

  5. WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS STORY?

    1) Opening sentence--"A Buddhist lama, or a teacher that has achieved a level of honor.."

The story has nothing to do with religion or Buddhism, so why was it included? If the man was Methodist, would the writer have included it? No

    2) "Lama Chuck Stanford said the guns were given to him by a friend, and he wanted to ensure the guns would never be used for criminal purposes."

I call Bullshit!! A "friend" who's in the habit of giving away items of considerable value to people who will destroy them? Makes no sense!

    3) "Police encourage others to do what Lama Stanford did. When they have unwanted firearms, perhaps when a family member dies and leaves behind firearms, they ask residents to call 816-234-5000 or the patrol division nearest them to arrange for officers to take custody of the weapons for destruction."

"For destruction"? Why does a firearm, an instrument designed for a purpose, which is used by law enforcement and others throughout the country, need to be destroyed?

    So, what is this article?
It's a contrived PR piece for "Lama" Stanford and KCPD.

Why doesn't the reporter investigate how exactly Chuck Stanford began using the title "lama", because he surely didn't complete a training program at a Buddhist monastery. Hint: are you familiar with "preachers" who never went through training, no degree, no ordination, but got someone from their church to "bless" them?
