Here's a bit of insight into Kansas City media rage that isn't yet making the local news . . .

To wit . . .

CHECK THIS KANSAS CITY MEDIA INSIDER TESTIMONY ARGUING AGAINST NEW POLICE POLICY!!!

Here's the word:

"KC media organizations across the city are UPSET this morning with KCPD. For years dispatchers provided basic info to news orgs when pios (Public Information Officers) are not available immediately, nights, overnight, weekends but this morning dispatchers were given a memo ordering them not to talk AT ALL to the media. This is a disservice to the public! It's already leading to misinformation. . ."

Like it or not, media is moving faster than ever to keep up with the Internets and this change up presents consequences for broadcast accuracy. We hear media and police are in the process of working this one out but make no mistake the public info debate is constant betwixt media and authorities . . . In much the same way that only TKC and one other former Dead Tree Media reporter had any real questions about the significant changes in the murder rate.
