An extra special Ruckus this week offers us an exciting discussion during this eventful political week. We always like it when they mix up the guests on this GOLD STANDARD show for political discourse in Kansas City.
Take a peek:
Topics include:
- Debating Kansas Gov. Brownback
- The Busted KCMO Budget
- State Of Black Kansas City 2015
- Roasts And Toasts we're pretty good but a bit subdued except for Mike Shanin's MUST SEE Buzzfeed reference.
All things considered, one of the best shows of the year so far with plenty of left vs. right and Kansas City Insider chatter for local newshounds.
Kind of reminds me of The Lawrence Welk Show
ReplyDeleteAnd a one and a two and a one to three four!
ReplyDeleteWhere does the The Busted KCMO Budget part start so I don't have to waste my time watching the other stuff.
ReplyDeleteKicking off the CK Media Coma Weekend
ReplyDeleteI thought Tony was going to be a regular.
ReplyDeleteTony should be a regular.
ReplyDeleteCrosby Kemper is a local treasure, the only guy on the panel with the nerve to question the vacuous, inane blatherings emanating from the rest of the talking heads.
The show was the usual exercise in the application and acceptance of the never ending, no sell by date application of a white guilt narrative that completely obfuscates and 2nd parties all blame for the lack of acceleration in the black community to ANYONE or ANYTHING other that the black community.
^^^^^^^^^^^
ReplyDeleteNah, it's better that you show up EVERY WEEK and make that comment. You've been doing it for nearly half a year so far. Good luck with that, hope it pays well.
Loser.
They can't make Tony a regular because viewers and supporters will assume KCPT has gone nuts when they visit this website and yank all funding.
ReplyDeleteI thought Mike Shanin said Mayor Sly James and Chief Daryl Forte would be the guests on this weeks show?
ReplyDeleteWTH?
Tony is good for a guest spot. I thought his visit to the show was entertaining. This conversation was needed but not too surprising. They really need to keep trying to spice it up.
ReplyDeleteHere's a question that only Crosby Kemper will answer honestly. Now that Troy has convinced us the E-Tax in no way deters businesses or people from locating here because they know its for a good cause and all, wait till they get a load of the sewer tax hike.
ReplyDeletePredicted to be around $100 a month at some point because they used all the money for downtown. The E-Tax will finally seem like no big deal for real.
A person who makes $30k per year pays about $300 per year for E-Tax for the pleasure of living here. That same person will ultimately pay an additional $1200 more per year for water/sewer if the long term projections are correct that were floated in the privatization proposal estimates to cover combined sewer replacement obligations. That will be the cost to whomever takes on the burden- private or city.
What say Crosby about that?
A show without a fucking NIGGER would be great. Oh yeah, you can't do that in Kansas NIGGER City...
ReplyDeleteKC, US, RU?
ReplyDeleteWelcome to KC, US, RU?, that weekly food for thought fight over the news of the day and the trends of the time.
Headliner Interview: Snooze! Endowed organization funded the "State of Black Kansas City" report, an exercise in futility designed to give the appearance of caring about and acting for the betterment of minorities. A quick synopsis: things have not measurably improved, and in some cases have actually worsened! But hey, the liberal managers from these civic organizations remain fully employed! Who knew?
PANEL: Terry Riley is a "President"!! Mary Ann Murray Simons needs a longer name! Patrick McInerney practices on the wrong side of the political divide. And, Crosby Kemper is the sole voice of reason.
STATE OF BLACK KANSAS CITY
Lewis DoBad is quoted--"It is distressing, but not at all surprising, that African Americans and Latinos continue to trail whites in the Kansas City area in key measures of well-being." What no reader should be surprised by, is the racist views of Mr. DoBad! And when I say racist, I mean that Mr. DoBad is anti-Black. His views continue to cast African-Americans as forever victims, the timeless slaves of a never-ending invisible oppressor. And in so doing, he guarantees himself a spot at the liberal white-guilt inducing Kansas City Star Editorial Board.
Perhaps the highlight of the show was when host Mike Shanin noted that African-Americans hold the following positions: Mayor, Police Chief, School Board Superintendent, U.S. Congressman!
To which Mr. McInerney chastised Mr. Shanin, yet failed to explain this overt discrepancy. (see "liberal white guilt") Mr. Kemper cuts directly to the bone when he says, "We need to be intentional about what we're doing on the East-side. We have a massive transfer of wealth from the average taxpayer to wealthy developers and corporations. Mr. Riley wants to talk about "Selma" and education in foreign countries! WTF? MAMSimons sticks strictly to politically-correct speak no substance.
WHAT'S WRONG WITH KANSAS?
Shanin pokes a sharp stick in the eye of the Star Editorial Board. Yeah!!!!! MAMSimons continues with ludicrous liberal news-speak. Crosby Kemper correctly raises the issue of "protected class" necessity, while truthfully calling out the name-calling from the Star Editorial Board. Yeah!!! Mr. McInerney struggles to define "protected class" and impugns the integrity of Kansas voters. Mike gets lost in the alphabet soup of LGBT-Z!!! Fast-forward to 18:04 when Crosby politely takes the liberal panelists to task with the retort--"that's saying that people on the left have values, and people on the right don't." Mr. Riley feels threatened with all this talk about LGBT protected classes, and wants to ensure that African-Americans get in on some of this "protected class" action!
KC BUDGET = FREEZING TIMES?
Skip straight to Mr. Kemper's brilliant comments highlighting the nonsense included in the budget (Sprint Arena subsidy, Bartle, Power and Light, Citadel debt, Aviation Dept. loan repayment, etc.) SIMPLY OUTSTANDING!!!!!
ROAST AND TOAST
MAMSimons TOASTS SNL anniversary show. WTF? (This ranks right up there with Gwen Grant's totally off-topic toastings) Crosby TOASTS MO legislators who stand with MO libraries. Terry Riley gives "kudos" to ObamaCare. Hey!! It's called Roasts and Toasts, not kudos and whatever! Patrick McInerney ROASTS "manly firmness." WTF? Mike Shanin concludes with a TOAST to columnist George Will's line--"If narcissism were oil, this President would be Saudi Arabia!" Finished on a high note!!!!
PANELIST GRADES
Riley = D
MAMSimons = D
McInerney = D
Kemper = A+
Agree except for the D for Riley unless D means dense. That guy is a total egotistic nutcase.
ReplyDeletePoliticians will lie to our faces. They’ll tell us to be excited and that everything is fine; then behind the scenes they’ll plan for capital controls and huge tax increases.
ReplyDeleteDat Terry Riley is a boss player. Runnin' shit. That older boring almost all white panel of the past screamed funeral. Shanin could be the whitest guy to ever live. They were almost as sad as them Truman Days.
ReplyDeleteThey need to boot Kemper & add someone who can shake that shit up & actually tell the real - real. Not that PC bullshit.
I do it because I love the ^^^^^^^^ sign.
ReplyDeleteSmell your own facts numb nutz.
Why is Riley on Ruckus? He has NO original thoughts and is a phony. He is now a P.R. man which means that he knows where to buy political yard signs.
ReplyDeleteWhen Crosby Kemper III mentioned how the City is still paying for that toxic waste dump called The Citadel while Terry Riley was sitting across the table from him, I laughed out loud.
ReplyDeleteAlso, according to the sophisticated and always trustworthy thinking and words of Gwen Grant, black life quality is decreasing. Riley was on the City Council. What did he do to improve that life quality, other than create a toxic waste dump?
