Selma and Birmingham are 3rd world shit holes. White guilt movies are all the rage, but the truth is, the Civil Rights Movement, which sought "Equal Opportunity", by way of the "Content of Character", has given way to "Equal Outcome" by way of threats of violence and accusations of "Racism" from any of the millions of self appointed "Community Activists". That Racial Scarlet Letter, extemporaneously applied at the whim and caprice of Blacks destroys lives, careers and provides de facto permission for the continuation of a Black on White Intifada that is an ever present threat to the lives and well being of whites everywhere.
ReplyDeleteOprah Winfrey and Hollywood will continue to roll out Civil Rights pornography, Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson will continue their extortion rackets, and the great passion plays of the Civil Rights Movement will be re-enacted again and again. Whites will be called racist for leaving black run cities, and if they don’t flee, they will be called racist for staying.
The Civil Rights Movement got exactly what it wanted. Its leading figures, like Martin Luther King Jr., have been enshrined as American saints. Black power reigns in what were some of the leading cities of the Old Confederacy.
But formerly First World cities like Selma, Birmingham, and Detroit will still be Third World slums, no matter how many Hollywood movies are made about the evils of Whites. And no amount of white guilt will comfort those who have to live in the ruins.
Say goodbye to Ruskin Heights and say goodbye to Selma, another Hate Whitey White Guilt movie that has jumped the shark, just like the Civil Rights Movement.

Anyone reading this over-the-top exaggerated hyperbole knows exactly where this reviewer is headed, and it's not an unbiased search for the truth!

I was curious to see if this gal actually saw this "historic" attempt at making white people feel bad and then could give an honest review. Judging by the version I saw which had to be different than the one she saw I was kind of confused by her glowing review. But by looking at a blown up version of her blog pic I completely understand her point of view now.

ReplyDeleteThat said, the fact that there was vehement prejudice does not excuse the historical falsehoods in this film. If every single white person in this country had opposed integration it wouldn't have happened.
And I know the director says she didn't intend this to be a historical film, but if that were truly the case, she should have included a disclaimer at the beginning of the film saying "Any resemblance between the events portrayed in this film and the actual events are purely coincidental."
