Recently, the most active denizens of our blog community talked about what Kansas City needs most amid election season.
To wit . . .
CHECK THIS POLL FOR TKC BLOG COMMUNITY RANKING OF KANSAS CITY'S TOP PRIORITIES!!!
The answers were interesting but not unexpected.
Question: What do you think Kansas City's most important issue should be during the upcoming election?
Answers:
Transit: 7.1%
Local Gov. Eco-Devo: 0%
Ethics @ City Hall: 21.4%
***** WINNER: Addressing Infrastructure Concerns And Deferred Maintenance: 57.1%
Crime: 14.3%
Here are a few quotes on the topic:
KC Needs Ethics & Audits:
"Are all important and as always, there will be other issues. However in my opinion the most important is “ethics @ city hall”. The voters in KCMO will never have trust or confidence in city hall until the characters occupying those offices decide to play it straight with the public. There is no accountability, too many personal agendas and the blatant lack of respect for the voters. It starts with fiscal responsibility. The voters need to be comfortable the budget numbers we get from city hall are detailed and accurate. It is our money! The new mayor should insist on an outside auditor coming in and auditing the Enterprise Zones, and all the city departments including Parks and Recreation, Water, etc.. These audits should take place annually until a solid base line is established, maybe two or three years in a row. Then we might be able to get by with every other year.
"Once the voters feel comfortable they know where we are, they will be more supportive on issues which are necessary; not sexy."
And then . . .
Speaking Of Sexy
"Infrastructure is just not as sexy as an Italian made Toy Train. A new airport with exclusive dining and VIP treatments. Talking about pumping the shit through the streets at a cocktail party is something you'd rather be doing at 10am"
This is the word for our blog community and how we'll approach the election . . .
More in a bit . . .
Do you really think the old guard will take care of this? You want new government? Elect new people.
ReplyDeleteSounds like the stupidest collection of mouthbreathing neckbeards who apparently can't find a UHaul and a highway out of town ever to grace the planet.
ReplyDeleteI don't agree 8:34 - It sounds like they are people who know the value of money and what really makes a city.
ReplyDeleteAnd don't cut and paste text wall shit here people. I hate to have to text TKC to take it down. Do yourself a favor and start your own blog if don't want to deal with people who tell the truth here.
Very well said xalti

ReplyDeleteHe should remember what the apostle Paul writes to the saints in Rome (Romans 1:7). Paul pleads with the saints in Rome to “present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service” to the Lord (Romans 12:1-2). Now if discipleship were required to be saved, then these people could not have been saints. The Bible tells us that Paul wrote (under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit) the book of Romans to the saints (meaning they were saved)...
Romans 1:6-8, “Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ: To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.”
4:49: 'Zat you, Mensa boy?
