Here's a note from our KICK-ASS TKC SUBSCRIBER COMMUNITY which reflects a bit of frustration faced by voters amid an election season wherein many Kansas City politicos are treating the upcoming vote like a popularity contest and not a fight over issues.
Here's the word on our TKC trash day that throws out a great many challenges to elected officials seeking office:
KC election issues
TKC, here are some major issues facing KCMO:
Airport – Should we throw away over 1 Billion dollars for a new airport?
Trolleys – Should we throw away over 1 Billion dollars for more trolleys?
Light rail – Should we throw away over 1 Billion dollars for a light rail?
KCP&L District – What should we do about the marauding thugs?
Plaza District – What should we do about the marauding thugs?
18th and Vine District – How much more should we throw away?
KCSD – Can anyone do anything about our failed school districts? Does anyone care about our failed school districts?
Not one candidate has mentioned any of these issues.
#############
In fairness, we've reported on and heard back from quite a few local forums WHEREIN TALK ABOUT MOST OF THESE ISSUES HAVE SURFACED . . . The problem is that most of the solutions are vague and candidates simply name check the problems without providing any concrete plans as to dealing the issues. There are a few stand outs the bucking this trend but by and large close political watchers are justified in their frustration with most of the council candidates.
Developing . . .
What we should do is throw that Mayor and his posse of losers out on their butts
ReplyDelete8:02 that is a great plan so we need to push, pull or drag every voter we can to the polls and get rid of this bunch of idiots starting with an especially the Mayor
ReplyDeleteWhere is the TKC candidate questionnaire?
ReplyDeleteTRANSLATION: How can we get the supreme white race into office working for the interests of white people?

Here you go Tony
ReplyDeleteAirport- no
Trolleys- no
Light rail-no
Power and light- dress code!
Plaza- crack them in their skulls and call their mama
18th and vine- no more
School district- hold kids accountable and toss them out
Its pretty easy. No bullshit spending. If the city is even thinking about spending 3 plus billion dollars on horsehit then they better add more fire stations to the giant coverage holes up north and add more police officers to keep the city safe. Pretty simple, but hey I'm not a politican and never could be because I think logically.
Should we throw away 1 kajilliondebillionkamillionmicatrillion dollars to build new roads on vacant land in the Northland were no one lives?
ReplyDeleteShould we throw away a jajajajajillionkascillion dollars to widen roads in the northalnd no one drives on?
Should we throw away a bascritillionnanozillion dollars to provide the same level of service to a square mile of the Northland that 3 people live on as we would a square mile of the city where 5000 people live and pay taxes?
Should we spend a quintillionbobganoushillion dollars building sewers to handle the runoff of Northlander tears?
Should we spend more than 60% of our revenue to subsidize sprawl that takes up 60% of our landmass but houses only 33% of our residents who pay less than 40% of the tax revenue just because they whine and are white?
Should we spend a decadohedrillion dollars building another freeway interchange to no where so that no Northlander will ever have to see another car on the road again during their "commute" ?
Or should the Northland learn to live within its means and stop leeching off the core?
"thugs" means NIGGERS!!
ReplyDeleteBut 10:02, the Northland, home of Mensa boy, is being fully subsidized by the Fourth District. I heard it from a toy choo choo proponent, so it must be true!
ReplyDelete18th and Vine District – How much more should we throw away?
ReplyDeleteNothing. 18th and Vine is the embodiment of all things wrong with Kansas City. Essentially, with no demand for Jazz or anything else at 18th and Vine - the leaders of the Third District thought wouldn't it be nice to revitalize that corridor. Without forethought or rational process - City dumps money into 18th Vine acting at the behest of "the leaders" and voila - an empty, rotting shell.
And you can look at any other "urban" neighborhood and find the same trend: Ivanhoe, Manheim, Beacon Hill, Vineyard, Citadel, Renaissance and the list goes on and on. Maybe one day active engagement in neighborhoods might be a priority but with so many unemployable has-beens, wanna-bes and D-list actors, not much will change. The bright light is that these people can't live another 20 years - maybe then we'll have some relief.
Sly James? Should we toss Sly out of office
ReplyDelete(You forgot that)
We here in the Northland would love to be annexed by Liberty, but the boys downtown don't want to part ways. Hell we'd love to start our own City, but everytime the required "behind the scenes" talks are started the idea is immediately shutdown. The reason? City says they need the revenues.
ReplyDeleteI think you'll find Terrence Nash, running in the 6th, has very definite ideas on these issues. He has and will openly express them should anyone ask. Kevin McManus, his opponent, on the other hand doesn't have a clue about any of them because he's not been involved with city issues. The only responses you'll get from him, if you get anything definite and not evasive, will be whatever John Sharp tells him.
ReplyDeleteTwerking and Jerking is all that matters in the kingdom of Sly "King Momo" James
ReplyDeleteI'm going to oversimplfy this more than a tad, but simple, reasonable investments in infrastructure, transit (not rail), and historic preservation can address all of those issues.
ReplyDeleteIt takes some creativity at city hall, but I'm going to use this time that I have in the public spotlight to discuss new ideas, because many of these old ones are expensive and questionable.
