RIGHT NOW WE'VE GOT A SNEAK PEEK OF CLAY CHASTAIN'S KANSAS CITY MAYORAL CAMPAIGN KICK-OFF SPEECH!!!
Just like he promised, he's not pulling any punches when it comes to going after Mayor Sly James. Here are just a few of his talking points to consider.

Sneak Peek & Clay Chastain Speech Kick-Off Speech
Clay Chastain's presence in the KCMO Mayoral race assures citizens there will be a public debate over the issues facing the city. Current Mayor Sly James will no longer be able to hide out on the 29th floor of city hall to avoid media and public scrutiny of his dismal record.
Here are some excerpts from Chastain's speech he will deliver to supporters at his campaign kick-off Tuesday (December 30) at 7:00 P.M. at Unity Temple on the Plaza:
1. "After 4 years as mayor, Sly James has managed to accomplish diddly, botch transit, and leave behind him a trail of democratic ruin."
2. "Kansas City cannot be a great place to live until it is a more safe place to live."
3. "If I can beat Sly in the court of law, I can beat Sly in the court of public opinion come election day."
4. "A light rail train (running up to 65mph in its own dedicated right-of-way) operating from the Kansas City Zoo across the eastside to the Plaza, to a regional transportation center at Union Station, to downtown, and up through the northland to KCI will not only energize the bus system and electrify the city, but will also serve as the new rail foundation around which Kansas City can build a future regional transit system."
5. Sly's inept transit vision for a maze of slow moving streetcars puttering around downtown in mixed-traffic with overhead wires, matches previous planning blunders like building KCI too far out, encircling downtown with a moat of freeways, and not building Royal's stadium downtown."
6. "We can do better. I will do better as Kansas City's next mayor."
