TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY DESPERATELY NEEDS CASH FOR 2015!!! MAYOR SLY CREW SECRETLY PLANNING CITY HALL GEO BOND VOTE!!!

Mainstream Kansas City media is going through their end of year content mill routine but KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS want to share a far more accurate look at the hot mess now confronting City Hall that's only going to get worse in 2015.

To wit . .

The topic of a rapidly approaching future sale of Kansas City general obligation bonds hasn't been highlighted by local media but there's already work underway to make the sale which will sink this town further in debt.

For those who don't know, the General Obligation Bond sale scheme from City Hall is kind of like a bit of home refinancing but with an even worse deal demonstrating this town's bleak financial future.

It's so bad, that this City Hall ask requires a vote.

And here's the news . . .

KANSAS CITY FINANCES ARE FAILING SO MISERABLY THAT THIS CITY HALL GEO BOND RENEWAL IS BEING RUSHED BEFORE THE E-TAX EFFORT GETS UNDERWAY!!!

Translation . . .

LOOK FOR MAYOR SLY TO CONTINUE HIS EPIC SPENDING SPREE THAT HAS PUSHED SO MANY NEW TAXES AND OBLIGATIONS ON KANSAS CITY'S STRUCTURALLY UNSOUND BUDGET!!!

In fairness, Mayor Sly James never promised any sort of fiscal responsibility while his spendthrift approach to local governance has made him one of the most popular dudes in town as Kansas City taxpayers are stuck picking up his tab.

Better title - KC is broke.

  2. Hiring freeze, layoffs and no raises for city workers--KCPD and KCFD get all the money.

  3. You really need to get a better understanding of municipal finance. Unless your goal is to stir up anxiety.

    What am I saying?

  4. The bigger stories are found in the JaxCo Courthouse but Tony refuses to blog about them. Is mommy getting Sanders Cash?

Why nothing about the JaxCo Parks and Rec Department coming up short on a big bundle of cash?

    ReplyDelete
  5. Yes indeed, if you only had the simplest grasp of how municipalities managed their money, the world would be a happier place.

Have your dog explain it to you. She's got a better idea.

    ReplyDelete
  6. If I were Tony's dog I'd run away out of the sheer embarrassment of being smarter than my owner.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Not particularly on topic, but you read it here first! Troy Nash is positioning himself for either a run at council or Mayor. Just watch....

  8. At least get it right, Tony. It's not a GEO bond, it's a G.O. bond, for General Obligation. Maybe GEO is cute, but it's stupid.

  9. Hey, I work for the city. May I please have a raise for working my arse off? Don't make me give out my own pocket and time just to have a job that I don't care for the roots.

  10. Have mercy on Kansas City citizens12/26/14, 12:01 PM

VOTE NO. STOP THE MARCH TOWARD DETROIT STYLE BANKRUPTCY!!!!! VOTE SLY OUT!!!

Call the FCC and report the fraud happening with Kansas City's go-bonds. FBI should be watching.

  12. Dumb jigs and those that vote for em..😬

  13. Pull up the Fitch Report or other financial database that issues bond rating and actual bond issues from KCK & KCMO. We elect the most incompetent people to government and expect they know anything about finance, but sign on the dotted line. We do know that financing of corrupt cities has made billions for bankers and bondmen. In an FBI report, the city across the river had the major bond issuer say "I own city hall." What does that tell you? Its business as usual and no end in sight.

    The fix is in.

  14. And yet, you deep thinkers are motivated by someone sitting in a basement describing General Obligation bonds as "GEO".

    ReplyDelete
  15. Barry Sotero said: Just raise the debt ceiling and print more money. Then you can blame the Tea Party for being Assholes.

    ReplyDelete
  16. You don't have to be a deep thinker to get sick and tired of being screwed by low level political hacks.

  17. Russ Johnson is so smart that he has been run out of KC politics.

And GEneral Obligation bonds is an easy abbreviation. GEO is fun and it's obvious that tony got your goat again. Nobody said this wasn't a fact, just that they don't like TKC reporting it. Typical city hall liars.

  18. Russ Johnson is a total and complete
    moron. That's common knowledge. He's a dickhead too!📵

  19. The blame should be at the feet of Troy Schulte and his band of assistant city managers. They are all incompetent. How someone can bankrupt the city and get away with it is amazing. Just wait until the toy train starts operating and he needs another $8M per year to make that operate. Where are the cuts coming then? He will begin the police and fire departments are falling from the sky to start the e-tax renewal. He and his croonies need to go along with the Mayor!!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Agree that the blame is with Troy. But the mayor needs to take accountability as well. The council people need to show more leadership.

    ReplyDelete
  21. When you can't even use the basic vocabulary of finance tools, people can't take you seriously.

Grow a sack and admit when you are beyond your depth.

OH and don't F-Bomb me. That would hurt beyond awful.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Why doesn't the Star report this stuff anymore?

    ReplyDelete
  23. VOTE NO NO NO as many times as it takes to convince Mayor SLY that he needs to do some work not spend money.
