ReplyDeleteIf you've been there, you understand. If you haven't been there, you don't even know. Cancer survivors spend the rest of their lives looking over their shoulders. Every check up. Every blood test. Every visit to the Oncology Center is nerve racking. Gary Lezak might not be my weatherman, but we damn sure have walked in his shoes. With a wife as a breast cancer survivor, we go there every year. Peace on ya brother. Godspeed and congratulations. Glad you're cancer free. mb

ReplyDeleteLezak went through his cancer diagnosis about the same time as a brother-in-law was battling his own case, and they're both now cancer-free.
ReplyDeletePart of the reason I routinely watch KSHB 41 is because of Lezak. Always professional, seemingly ALWAYS in a positive mood, and eager to teach the audience something about the weather.
There's plenty wrong with local television news in KCMO, aside from sports and weather, so it's nice to compliment someone who takes their job seriously and succeeds.
