And now we can forgo the illusion that Kansas City's 1% weren't totally going to get their way, just as we predicted months ago, and earn yet another EPIC TAX BREAK when all was said and done and even after a bit of threatening to move their party elsewhere: Foutch abandons Kemper Arena proposal - Kansas City Business Journal

So we hate this too?
ReplyDeleteLots to keep track of.
Knock it down. It has always been an eye sore.
ReplyDeleteThe city should GIVE the Kemper to the American Royal. And let them do whatever they want with it. HOWEVER, the city should not invest any further money into it. The Royal has Hale Arena, which is plenty big for the handfuls of horse shows they have there. We have Sprint Center for the Rodeo anyway. And if Mariner Kemper and the Cerner Billionaires don't like it, sorry. Too bad.
ReplyDeleteGood news for KCMO. The American Royal is one of the few treasures in this City.
ReplyDeleteHow many times had the media reported that the Foutch plan would cost the City nothing. Now it comes out that it would cost the City $46.2 million. Is it the media doing a poor job of investigating, City Hall withholding information or ???
ReplyDeleteThe media hasn't accurately reported this from the beginning. How anyone believed the Foutch plan was no cost to the City is beyond me. They admitted they were applying for tax credits, that was a cost to the City. Too many people were caught up in the emotion of "let's do this for the children."
ReplyDelete@3:16 - AHAHAHAH, that's a good one.
ReplyDeleteHA HA dickweed, TKC told us nothing.
