TKC QUESTION: DID KANSAS CITY VIOLENT TEEN FLASH MOBS CLOSE COUNTRY CLUB PLAZA CALIFORNIA PIZZA KITCHEN?!?!
Kansas City newsman legend Ferruzza files this report that leads us back to questions about the consequences of Summer wild times in this town's top entertainment district. Take a look: California Pizza Kitchen on Plaza is closing on Sunday
why do you insist on linking everything that happens on the Plaza to flash mobs?
ReplyDeleteNot only is it wrong, it's just FUCKING DUMB ANYMORE.
well the plaza is in the middle of kansas city poverty!,what do you dumb ass kansas city people think? The plaza is a joke, and soon the hotels down there will be renting rooms by the week. Any questions?
ReplyDeleteNah. Their pizza closed them.
ReplyDeletePretty shocking, whatever the cause. California Pizza Kitchens do very well all over the country. They only build them where there are lots of affluent shoppers. I've eaten in that one ... it's just like all the other CPKs. Except that's the only one I've seen that never seemed to be crowded with customers. Anybody know the real reason for that? That closing doesn't look good for the plaza's future.
ReplyDeleteTalk is cheap, or, maybe expensive.
ReplyDeleteIf black flash mobs are in play, business is dead.
Shitty pizza that serves olive pits that break teeth. Good riddance.
ReplyDeleteThe scum politicians you have elected, lie their fucking azzes off about the reality of crime in the streets.

A little business secret: If the joint was making money on Sunday it would stay open through world war three.
ReplyDeleteThe Plaza is in a swift downward spiral. I won't say that the negroes are completely to blame, but they definitely play a significant part. I hear people all the time that say they just don't go to the Plaza anymore because there's nothing down there worth any potential problems.
ReplyDeleteIt's the Media that is causing the negative perception of the Plaza. Wait, it wasn't the media that ran through the patio I was saying dinner at and throwing peoples drinks and food on the ground laughing all the way. Maybe Chris Rock was right...
ReplyDeleteSaying should be "having". Damn you autocorrect.
DeleteIt was the Niggers!
ReplyDeleteIt was the shitty food and service.
ReplyDeleteFuck the Plaza. Those overpriced eateries have always been guilty of serving up near food truck quality food at Ritz prices. People are only gonna pay $50.00 - $100.00 a shot for dinner before the credit card bill arrives and they sober up.
ReplyDeleteI do think the blacks have changed the vibe of the Plaza. Even though there may not be a mob every weekend, people know that it can happen at any time, and the type of people who have the money to patronize Plaza-type businesses are skipping the risk and going to Town Center, Prairie Fire, Briarcliff, etc. where they know it's pretty certain they can park, shop and dine in peace. We drove through the Plaza a couple weekends ago and hadn't been in months. It's just not the Plaza anymore, and I think any honest person who has been in KC 10+ years would have to agree. It's sad, because the Plaza has always been the city's crown jewel, but today it looks like any strip mall in the country, just with prettier architecture.

ReplyDeleteThe fact that the Plaza has become less unique--less local if you will--is a big part of the way things are going there. It is still a nice area to go but not as nice as it was.
I have never been to the Power and Light, went to Westport 12 years ago. Only go to the Plaza during day light hours.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing there anywhere. Try Raytown it is moving.
These comments don't add up.
ReplyDelete-- The "flash mobs" only happen late on weekend nights and only now and then, and only in the warm months. The average shopper could go to the plaza all year round and not be aware of flash mobs.
-- There are some expensive restaurants, but California Pizza Kitchen is not one of them. The pizzas are priced like everybody else's pizzas, and they are pretty good eating. I've eaten in CPKs in several states, and this one is just as good as they are. Everywhere else, CPK is a popular place to stop and eat while shopping ... and even for dinner.
-- The most valid complaint I see here is about how there are very few local stores left in the plaza and mostly national chain stores, quite a few priced well beyond the means of anybody but the very well off. It has, in fact, become a generic upscale mall just like countless others. Do you buy Coach, Gucci, Tiffany, Rolex, Versace and Armani? Me neither.
Power & Blight and Westport are vomitoriums for 20-something drunks. I wouldn't take visitors to either one. The Plaza, on the other hand, is pretty nice. What's the problem?
