Now, this might not be big news to the many d-bags who read this blog from a trailer park in the middle of Nothingville, Missouri/Kansas but here in Kansas City Proper this shakeup is HUGE.

FAIR OR NOT, MAYOR SLY'S REPUTATION FOR IGNORING NEIGHBORHOODS AND BEING OUT OF TOUCH WITH THE COMMUNITY IS OFTEN BLAMED ON McGURK!!!
Here @ TKC we cut Chief Of Staff McGurk some slack because, like all tall white dudes, he was "just following orders" which has justified most atrocities in the modern era.
But I digress . . .
Without question Chief Of Staff McGurk is a well-qualified dude who will move on to bigger and better things . . . But we're starting to see Mayor Sly lose confidence in his "creative class" strategy after a RESOUNDING DEFEAT over the toy train streetcar. Now the shift is on among the Mayor's peeps in order to fix an image that has been badly damaged during a tenure that has mostly focused on tax breaks for big biz, eco-devo work downtown, pushing the toy train and ignoring just about everybody who isn't representing a Kansas City corporate interest.

Sly is making Career defining mistakes,and Macjerk was one of them. Hiring a person who has no sense of the City and those that are in it was a terrible mistake. You need a Chief of Staff who is familiar with voters not one who is a Lawyer who has never worked for a vote in his life.
