We've blogged so many homicides that we know there are haters who blame every homicide victim for their own demise when the crime is committed East of Troost or the victim is a person of color. Even worse and because turnabout is fair play, let's acknowledge that these same haters call out the community and their leadership amid minority homicides . . . This post is simply an effort to put the hateration in perspective and yet another instance where Kansas City should witness how easily violent crime can cross demographic dividing lines.

ReplyDeleteThose murders reminded me to get off my but and get my CCW. It just takes one guy to cause all that death and sadness. I'm not some paranoid nut, but I would like to be prepared should I ever encounter someone like that.
ReplyDeleteAgain it is the victims who are double victimized by a local prosecutor who refuses to do the right thing and go for the death penalty. When your protectors have no scruples there is no reason to put your faith in a system that exists on a constant stream of bullshit PR and a local press that only manages to have moral values when there are bucks tied to their cause. I don't know why folks even bother to call the police anymore all they are doing is justifying needed bureaucratic jobs.
ReplyDeleteDid you see the photos of these five victims? It was really strange. I was conditioned to expect them dressed head to toe in mono red, wearing copious amounts of jewelry, and displaying some strange hand gesture; for this is what I see on the news when most innocent victims are killed. Instead, they looked like normal folks. How weird.

ReplyDelete2:39, you're a douchebag. I know that the average TKC poster is an asshole, and I laugh at plent of them, but there is nothing funny or clever about the violent death of elderly people. Like children and animals, they're one of the most vulnerable groups of people around. If there was any justice, the ape that killed them would already be swinging from the city's tallest tree.
