TKC EXCLUSIVE AND BREAKING NEWS!!! TITUS BOND AND REMINGTON RESEARCH GROUP READY TO TAKE THEIR KANSAS CITY POLLING VICTORY TO THE NEXT LEVEL!!!
As usual, our KICK-ASS TKC BLOG COMMUNITY is privy to the next big thing in Kansas City politics that also had national implications.
To wit . . .
RECENTLY, OUR BLOG COMMUNITY EARNED AN EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH REMINGTON RESEARCH GROUP LEADER TITUS BOND WHO TOLD US A BIT ABOUT HIS GROUNDBREAKING METHODOLOGY THAT EARNED A PERFECT MIDTERM ELECTION NIGHT!!!
First off, Titus Bond doesn't have the typical résumé of a Republican pollster. He was raised in Midtown Kansas City, worked his way through Rockhurst High School on scholarship and even did some time @ Penn Valley Community college before heading to a Catholic college in the Beltway. Fun fact: He's the cuz of Jackson County legislator Theresa Garza Ruiz. Mr. Bond has tried his hand at a variety of different industries but learned the art of politics through close work with GOP Juggernaut consultant Jeff Roe that spans more than a decade.
Titus Bond now works as the leader of the Remington Research group with a great deal of autonomy even if the company is named after Jeff Roe's newborn daughter.
"Of course, Jeff brings a lot to the table and the company is only stronger because of his affiliation but it's something that has the potential to expand to the level of a PPP or Rasmussen because the results that our team has been able to garner have been so accurate."
We were anxious to talk with the group since they were the only pollsters in Kansas City willing to go on record with a preview of the blowout defeat that the toy train streetcar would undertake amid a PERFECT string of election calls.
Now, what is it that Remington Research does???
Their twitter seyz:
"Political and Public Affairs Polling Interactive Voice Response technology to survey quickly, cost-effectively, accurately and on an array of messages."
This isn't without controversy. In political circles, automated polling has RABID critics.
Titus bond tells us, "The people who hate automated polling are those traditional pollsters who use outdated methods that are far more expensive and far less accurate."
Of course the topic of price got our attention. We learned that a typical traditional poll costs around $15k to $20K for a local political candidate . . . A Remington Poll goes for a "fraction" of that cost and we pressed Mr. Bond for even more details. He said as much as 1/10th of the cost . . . So, we take that to mean something like $1,500-$2k starting prices. For people who know anything, THAT'S A GAME CHANGER FOR SMALL TIME CANDIDATES.
Titus Bond tells us: "That's kind of the point, we can offer the latest results for a political team and help them deliver a message based on recent events and not a poll that was completed months ago."
Already, we hear that some consultants have caught on to this service . . .
"I tell consultants not to make their markup too steep or pretend they're doing our work," Titus Bond says as he really offers a way to cut out middle-men consultants. "In the end, people realize that the ability to get quick and accurate results is vital to any campaign."
The group's website explains the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) tech coupled with sampling and weighting methodology that makes their polling so effective.
Titus Bond explains it in a more practical way . . .
"It's about having the ability to analyze whatever data that we're collecting more quickly than anyone else and then match it with other questions and indicators in order to develop something that accurately reflects what likely voters really think."
The deets of the operation are fascinating if not a bit geeky . . . But here's something that's important . . .
LOOK FOR REMINGTON RESEARCH GROUP TO PLAY A BIG ROLE IN THE UPCOMING CITY COUNCIL AND MAYORAL ELECTION AS THEY STEP UP THEIR GAME AND MAKE A PLAY TO GO NATIONAL!!!
Already, Titus Bond is talking about hiring new people and expanding his office that's currently hidden away in a remote Northland location not overlooking Kansas City proper but close to the highways that connect this town.
Developing . . .
Impressive but a lot of time these folks don't know that part of consulting and polling is that politicos won't let candidates go to other firms. The civic council used to hate Jeff, now he's their boy. Don't know if this guy can pull off the same coup.
ReplyDeleteI used to HATE the robo calls, disturbing me at all times of day and night so some lazy jackass can charge a fortune to some wannabe feeder-at-the-public-trough. Then I discovered I could answer their questions falsely and totally fuck up their results. Bwaa-Haaa-Haaa-Haaa!
ReplyDeleteDo they do research on the effects of unsolicited bulk email?
ReplyDeleteI gather this douche bag is part Mexican.
ReplyDeleteThat would explain the "As usual, our KICK-ASS TKC BLOG COMMUNITY is privy to the next big thing in Kansas City politics that also had national implications." comment.
I would seriously doubt outside of the Crossroads area, this guy who hit's a trifecta on a 15,000 vote Kansas City election would not qualify as the next 528 of national politics.
But who knows...he is related to a "Garza" and you know how many Mexicans are flowing into the country.
ANY affiliation with that pig of a man, Roe, will most certainly prove to be a terrible liability and no asset. Roe would fuck up a two course meal!
ReplyDeleteI will not talk or respond to robots...
ReplyDeleteWherin Tony Botello gives a sloppy blowjob to some republican wannabe who's barely fit to lick Jeff Roe's boots.
ReplyDeleteA feast for bottomfeeders
And you-know-who is up and at it this morning.
ReplyDeleteMr. Tony,
ReplyDeleteThese robo schemes fail to amuse an informed voter. But they sure as hell get the opinion of the pissed off, marginalized 40-57 year old white male that is kind of likely to vote. Bless their angry hearts.
Why, with caller ID and most people under the age of 38 not having a landline the only ones taking that call are the aforementioned.
I truly think these calls that most busy people find annoying are great motivators for getting out the lost souls vote.
I was hoping to wash and hang out my curtains today but it looks like it just might be too muggy!
Don't worry! The downtown toy train is going to make everyone want one!!
ReplyDeleteAll Aboard!!!!!
He is one of Tony's better looking boyfriends.
ReplyDeleteThe last thing KCMO needs is another politicial consultant.
ReplyDeleteWhat it DOES need are some serious people who work to learn enough about city government to be able to actually have some ideas of how they can get elected and make city hall work better for the residents and businesses who are in the city.
There are already way more than enought airhead lightweights who need consultants to tell them what to think and do.
And, unfortunately, most of them get elected.
Is this the same pollster Roe used who reported earlier in the campaign that the toy train would pass? This is just more of Roe's PR program for himself.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget Sly's Folly - The Downtown Toy Train
ReplyDeleteWill Russ Johnson pay back the $10 million loan for studies and electioneering work he put the taxpayers on the hook for?
Their polling was totally inaccurate on the TDD. Contrary to their assertion that African Americans supported the Streetcar the majority black wards rejected it 72% to 28%. It actually prevailed in the total vote of the majority white wards. Remington reported that the white community was opposed. As I recall they also forecasted a close vote.
ReplyDeleteWasn't it reported by Helling and Kraske shortly before this last election that this pollster called the streetcar winning? Is this the same guy who did the polling on Trans Medicine last November, reporting that it was close, when in fact it lost 84 to 16%? This guy is ALL bullshit, just another front man for Roe's losing bullshit.
ReplyDeleteI say we pass an ordinance recognizing an emergency to put a complete halt to anything and everything the 13 Aye's of city hall attempts to do at this point.
ReplyDeleteInteresting to see David 'cut n run" Johnson has conveniently left town.

Elevation 5,016 feet. Approaching Denver shortly! #NerdTrain
Good. Hope he bought a one way ticket.
ReplyDeleteGiving an interview to a blog where the n word is bounced around like a ball. Always a good political move.
ReplyDeleteIt's appropriate, considering his political persuasion.
ReplyDeleteMy Struggle
ReplyDeleteBEAR, There are so many Mexicans here already that I bet if I threw a sombrero on the floor and we have an instant dance party.
ReplyDeleteLet Remington Research do a poll!
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame, he's probably got enough smarts and gumption to make it doing real productive work. However, that entails risk, so why not ride the coattails of family and connections into so-called "public service"? No risk there, feeding in the trough of rich political donors.
ReplyDeleteDid Theresa use this poll on Sherwood's. Race. Wow impressive
ReplyDelete11:01: He is a cutie!
ReplyDelete12:10 would that n word you refer to be NIGGER ?
ReplyDeleteIf it is NIGGER just say NIGGER.
Much like CHIGGER, but with a n as in NIGGER
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
so stupid, you racist don't represent the real KCMo, most of you don't even live here.
ReplyDeleteI'd suck his dick and let him cum all over my face and chest.
ReplyDeletewho wants to suck his titty's????
