Suburban Diversity Democracy D-Day: Roeland Park LGBT Anti-Discrimination Decision And More Debate Coming Soon
KCUR soon to make diversity decision amid a great deal of Conservative push-back: "After being postponed four times in as many months, a vote has finally been scheduled for the proposed anti-discrimination policy in Roeland Park, Kan. The city council will vote on the measure July 21."
Let's see... A city of under 7k with an area of less than 2 square miles, two sides fighting over an issue / ordinance much bigger than what can be settled at an extreme local level, said ordinance without any real teeth to effect what must be debated at a state and federal level...I think the clinical term for this is "Delusions of Grandeur".
ReplyDeleteAnother potential diagnosis would be "Bored Suburban Housewife".
ReplyDeleteLocal Ordinance:
ReplyDeleteAll local gays must have exquisite flowerpots and landscaping or they will be sent on a bus to Grandview.

ReplyDeleteWow! Roland Park is now queer nation. Works for me.
ReplyDeleteIf Roeland Park would have spent this much time and effort to find the old lady that wondererd off last year maybe they would have found her alive 100yards from her home instead of her dead body months later.

ReplyDeleteOne study asked heterosexal men how comfortable and anxious they are around gay men. Based on these scores, they then divided these men into two groups: men that are homophobic, and men who are not. These men were then shown three, four-minute videos. One video depicted straight sex, one depicted lesbian sex and one depicted gay male sex. While this was happening, a device was attached to each participant's penis. This device has been found to be triggered by sexual arousal, but not other types of arousal (such as nervousness, or fear - arousal often has a very different meaning in psychology than in popular usage).
When viewing lesbian sex and straight sex, both the homophobic and the non-homophobic men showed increased penis circumference. For gay male sex, however, only the homophobic men showed heightened penis arousal.
Heterosexual men with the most anti-gay attitudes, when asked, reported not being sexually aroused by gay male sex videos. But, their penises reported otherwise.
Homophobic men were the most sexually aroused by gay male sex acts.
