SHOCK!!! MIZZOU CENTER FOR TERRORISM AND DISASTER STUDIES KANSAS CITY VIOLENT TEEN FLASH MOBS!!!

Read this KC Infozine article closely and realize that OUR KICK-ASS TKC BLOG COMMUNITY has inspired study among terrorism experts: New Perspectives on Violent Flash Mobs - “Originally, flash mobs were thought of as a type of public performance art or ‘prankster action,’” J. Brian Houston, assistant professor in the Department of Communication and co-director of the Terrorism and Disaster Center at the University of Missouri said. “When and where flash mobs were to occur was communicated to participants via email, texting and smart phones. However, other events involving large groups of ‘roving’ youth in Boston, Brooklyn, Philadelphia and Kansas City have also been called “flash mobs” by the media and community leaders. These new roving youth flash mobs have sometimes turned violent or have been perceived to be potentially violent which led to our study.”

For the most part this is a media term that seeks to quickly define how social media, telcom tech and the Internets draws these crowds together . . . Some have pointed out that these gatherings are now simply termed as "crackin" events in urban core parlance that will be featured in horrible network TV sitcoms 5 years from now.

  1. Only a liberal academic could describe 14 yr old urban youths (niggers) on the plaza as performance art. Hysterical.

"Flash mobs on the Kansas City Plaza? The Plaza with nice shopping, restaurants, and hotels? Hmm....yes, I think I definitely need to go and study this situation carefully for an extended period. Let's see, I'll just apply for a federal grant from Homeland Security for this high-value terrorist target study and my Fall semester is set!"

  7. Assistant Professor studying urban crime mobs? He must not want tenure. Or have a hankering for a spot on the faculty at a more conservative school.

Well he is an assistant prof either nontenured or tenured track so he probably makes 75k a year plus a little stipend. That includes the 2 or 3 classes he has to teach each semester to a classroom of kids paying about 1500 a head.

So in the end, not much. Money for these types of research comes from private endowments outside of the taxpayer system.
