The most important news today is that yet another Kansas City eco-devo scheme might soon push visitors AWAY from this town . . .
KANSAS CITY TOY TRAIN STREETCAR CONSTRUCTION CREATES A DOWNTOWN PARKING CRISIS!!!
Even worse . . .
PARKING IS SO BAD ON THE WESTSIDE OF DOWNTOWN THAT CITY HALL HAS PROPOSED A PARKING CRACKDOWN!!!
Check the quote from a recent City Hall presser . . .
"The recently-approved regulations limit the time drivers can park in passenger and property loading zones and require use of emergency flashers for the duration of loading or unloading. Drivers are required to leave most passenger loading zones within 10 minutes, although some zones are identified as three-minute passenger loading zones. Individuals loading or unloading property are required to leave loading zones within 30 minutes.
In addition, the regulations prohibit parking within eight feet of a streetcar track or any public transit station, including bus stops and streetcar stations. Motorists found in violation of these regulations may be towed and fined as much as $500."
And so, like it or not . . .
PARKING PROBLEMS AND A POORLY PLANNED CONSTRUCTION NIGHTMARE OFFER ANOTHER REASON TO AVOID DOWNTOWN KANSAS CITY IN ADDITION TO P&L DISTRICT D-BAGS!!!

Maybe not a crisis but definitely a pain in the ass and probably just another way for City Hall to raise money.
ReplyDeleteIt's a real stretch, Armstrong, to conclude that new parking regulations equal a PARKING CRISIS!!!
ReplyDeleteThink it through dude. Just calm down and stop trying to connect dots that can't possibly connect.
621 is a reasoned, thoughtful individual.
ReplyDeleteWTF is he doing here?
Does he not know that the streetcar will be responsible for the end of the western world? Which means we wont have the guns we need because Hilary Chelsea confiscated them.
Shit, the Klan Bear has made it a race issue, why not a global warming matter.
I guess pulling this stuff out of your ass get posts. At ht esame time, you are trending closer to ridiculous.
Parking sucks in your downtown KC. I don't know if it's a crisis. Don't care. I'm staying out in Leawood where your criminal class can't touch me.
ReplyDeleteKlan Bear.....hey fuck wad it's Mr. Bear to dipshits like you.
ReplyDeleteThe Toy Train will only be utilized by the Porch Monkeys to get to Westport and the Plaza to join up with their "troupe".
Now, fuck off loser.
Bear out !
that must have hurt, the p.bear took a dump on you.
ReplyDeleteRuss Johnson Hates Kansas City.
ReplyDeleteKansas City has the fewest traffic delays in America, with just 12 minutes of every rush hour spend sitting in delays.
ReplyDeleteExcept for the hell hole known as Downtown.
Klan Bear:
ReplyDeleteI will probably sit in a quiet place and feel remorse for pissing off a white supremacist that has neither the sack or balls to post their own name.
Sorry if I hurt your feelings, but you might want to consider a relocation to rural Alabama
with a trailer on cider blocks.
Think it's curious that it is not enough to be hateful, you somehow feel self esteem by posting your venom.
Rural Alabama. You're giving the guy too much credit. At least those people can play the banjo. He's an Arkansas hillbilly if I ever saw one.
ReplyDeleteAhhhhh!!
ReplyDeleteWe've touched on a key point which results from exuberant "economic development."
The posse which is chamber of commerce, developers, builders, and politicians wish to build "it"....in which "it" is anything and everything. It matters not if the people have voiced a desire for "it"....just build "it"!!
Only later, do they privately confess that the quality of life for many residents has eroded. Higher prices, more people, more noise, more congestion, less friendly, etc. But at that time, their answer will be to build something else which they claim will alleviate these problems.
If Kansas City residents wanted to live in a big bustling crowded place, they wouldn't be here.
Downtown KCMO will never be a big bustling crowded place.
ReplyDeleteIt has all the incoveniences of an actual urban environment with none of the counterbalancing benefits.
As though being incovenienced somehow made it interesting.
Of course, if you just came to town from Little House on the Prairie, Kansas, you might think you're in Times Square.
We don't have to take this crap!
ReplyDeleteI had a Stretch Armstrong and it got a hole in it and released a whole lot of ectoplasm.
ReplyDeleteCity Hall will be mortified over how even fewer people go Downtown after the Streetcar makes it more of a pain.
ReplyDeleteAnd you name is what 8:20?
ReplyDeleteJust what I thought,
Fuck You Asshole
Yup, screw KCMO. Won't be catchin me downtown. Actually I don't go into KCMO very often anymore anyway. Everything we need is in the suburbs or if IN KC, well outside the urban core.
ReplyDelete@OMG, I have been f-bombed.
ReplyDeleteI think it must take like a 22 IQ to outwit these haters.
And it's "your", not "you".
And I think that Arkansas is probably right.
8:20
ReplyDeletePost ur name cocksucker
He's my neighbor. Name is Larry.
ReplyDeleteOr Harry.
Carry. That's it.
"At ht esame time, you are trending closer to ridiculous."
ReplyDeleteSorry, Mensa boy, but you've set too high a bar in that regard.
Endless ground-level-only pay lots ruined Downtown. Streetcar will make matters WORSE.
ReplyDeleteThe only parking problem KC has are the fat ass lazy idiots who feel the need to park their rusted out car right in front of Bazookas. Luckily they will die of heart disease soon.
ReplyDeleteYOUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK!
ReplyDeleteSeriously? "Don't leave your truck in a loading zone for more than three hours" is a crisis? "Don't park in front of a bus stop" is a crisis? I thought that those were the rules already.
ReplyDeleteSounds good to me. There really should be no need to drive a car within the downtown loop. If one really needs to drive one there, your employer should provide parking (hopefully underground) or you should pay a fee. This will make it more viable for pedestrians and public transit, creating less need for parking. Remember, when downtown KC was mostly free surface parking! Surface parking lots are just the worst for any city! Surface parking just creates an urban desert.
ReplyDeleteU guys are fucking retarded. Smh u can catch me on the streetcar to get from my loft, to get my groceries, to go to work, or to bar hop. Y'all just suck balls and should jump off a bridge.
