KANSAS CITY SPRINGTIME TRADITION: TOUTING LOWER CRIME NUMBERS BEFORE SUMMER SEASON OF VIOLENCE STARTS!!!

Over the past few days Kansas City has endured a tragic spike in violence and killing.

Credit where it's due . . .

There are 10 fewer homicides then there were at this time last year.

Click the link or image . . . Here are the latest Kansas City homicide released today . . .

Fact Check . . . Look a these numbers and notice WE'RE REALLY JUST RIGHT BACK WHERE WE WERE IN 2011 WHICH FEATURED A TRAGIC MURDER SPIKE and the the gap closes drastically from this time of year to the end of the year and we're still left with more than 100 homicides a year in this small Midwestern city which his disproportionate to our population size.

Either way . . . Credit to KCPD for making these stats available even if politicos and anti-violence groups justifying their paycheck tout and spin the stats for their own benefit.

  3. With a clearance rate of less than 50% for over a decade, that means there are 300-400 murderers running around certain zip codes in KC....

    Think about it...

  5. Fewer homicides have to be nothing but good, and you'd better get out of the way of the gang of grifters ready to claim credit for the change, starting with Bolonzo.
But nothing much about why thugs are killing each other and anyone else who gets in the way, and most of the decrease was caused by a very cold and snowy February.
    Two things to remember:
If only a smnall percentage of victims who have been shot, but just wounded had died, the body county would be at least ten higher than it is.
And the population of the east side gets smaller every month, but the number of shootings just keeps on going.
There'll be over 100 murders in KCMO this year.

Dear Mr. Tony: You may be right that we could have a big homicide surge in KCMO this summer--other cities like Wash/DC and Chicago are in the midst of crime surges, so we could have one too. But the homicide stats for the first four months of 2011 have to be looked at in their context: These numbers were so low compared to earlier years because of the public (Chief Corwin) and private (Mayor Funkhouser) efforts in the last year of Funkhouser's mayoralty to reassure the cops on the beat that they would get due process if accused of unethical conduct. Homicides surged again in the time after Funkhouser left office because city officials stopped giving such reassurances to the KCPD. Incidentally, with respect to Chief Forte's defense of the KCPD against attacks by Jermaine Reed, in the first four months of 2014 15 black people were murdered in KCMO compared to 27 black people murdered in KCMO in the first four months of 2013--anyone inclined to call the Chief an "Uncle Tom" should consider those stats. Take care and God bless. In Christ, Ernest Evans
