CJ Online: "The announcement Thursday that first lady Michelle Obama will address Topeka Unified School District 501 students at their graduation May 17 means combining the district’s high school graduations . . . That news has upset some students and parents, who are concerned the district will need to restrict the number of people who can attend."

And as a bonus, they are getting a shitty speaker who will the personal pronoun, I, hundreds of times. If they are really lucky, Michelle will incorrectly use "myself" in place of "I" a while lot of times as well.
ReplyDeleteStupid Topeka trash. The armpit of Kansas.

I'm originally from Topeka and not a fan of the Obamas, but having the first lady speak at the graduation ceremony would be a great thing.
ReplyDeleteThe parents do have a legitimate gripe, as they might be limited to the number of people who can attend. There are plenty of outdoor stadiums in Topeka that could accommodate larger crowds, so they should just think outside the box to accommodate Michelle and the families of those graduating.
Only in Topukea would a ghetto queen be a sought-after commencement speaker. I'm sure the graduates will appreciate her advice on growing their own vegetables and avoiding fast food.
