Mr. Tammeus, like so many other liberal apologists, feels the need to somehow defend and justify the embarrassment known as Reverend Jeremiah Wright.
ReplyDeleteIs this man not a degree-holding Reverend?
Is he not thoroughly familiar with the Bible?
How is it possible that a man who has made his life's vocation being a biblical scholar, reverend of a large congregation, and prolific public speaker, so habitually conduct himself in a manner CONTRARY to biblical tenets?
A reverend who lives in a mansion?
A reverend who drives a Porsche?
A reverend who condones and abets homosexual activity among his congregants?
A reverend who preaches racism, discrimination, and anti-Americanism?
Mr. Tammeus!! Do you not research your subject matter before writing about it?
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.
But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.
He said this, not because he cared about the poor, but because he was a thief, and having charge of the moneybag he used to help himself to what was put into it.
Jesus said to him, “If you would be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”
