Jewish People In KCMO - This one is well-deserved and maybe the only good thing to come out of the sad shooting drama that claimed three lives . . . Today Kansas City stands united against antisemitism AND as Dead Tree Media Dude Yael points out . . .The Suspect hated Jewish people, yet only Christians were murdered in Johnson County rampage
Admittedly, nothing really good comes out of this kind of disaster but this shameful episode should offer even more perspective on that whole "master race" rhetoric often espoused by racist Nazis.
TV News - The horrific shooting story belonged to the Kansas City television newsies from the second it happened. Social media helped but more than anything it seems that local TV stations dominated the discourse and sparked conversation.
2nd Amendment Gun Rights - This rampage could have been worse if not for people with guns. Notice the gun-nut aspect of this tragedy has been muted for the most part.
LOSERS
Mayor Sly James - On Friday the KCMO Mayor casually dismissed random gun violence and by Sunday afternoon those words would come back to haunt him and make Mayor Sly seem aloof, irresponsible and out of touch. The painful lesson of this tragedy is that random shooting is most certainly cause for alarm and must always be taken seriously.
Haters - Online and in real life it was a bad week to be a hater as Kansas City searched for hope good news amid so much tragedy.
Social Media - Reax, well-wishes and news was past back and forth with the help of the Internets and nobody can deny the influence of this tech.
