TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! MUST SEE!!! MIDTOWN KANSAS CITY SAVE THE TROLLEY TRACK TRAIL CREW DEBUTS TOY TRAIN STREETCAR OPPOSITION CLIP!!!
Right now let's take a look at the Kansas City crew dedicated to saving Trolley Track Trail taking their message to Internets screens.
FIRST ON TKC: CHECK THE DEBUT OF THIS CLIP DEDICATED TO FACT CHECKING TOY TRAIN STREETCAR PROMISES IN BROOKSIDE!!!
We like the style of this clip and there's a lot to be skeptical about when it comes to trusting Mayor Sly, the Council and City Hall . . .
The title:
What do you know about Streetcar Phase Two?
In the future, we'd like to see a bit more personal testimony and not just graphics but it's a good start.
MORE THAN ANYTHING THE ANTI-TAX STRATEGY SHOULD RESONATE WITH VOTERS WHO MIGHT OPPOSE THE SIXTH TIME MAYOR SLY HAS ATTEMPTED TO RAISE TAXES DURING HIS TENURE!!!
Even better . . .
WE HEAR THAT BROOKSIDE RESIDENTS AND MORE MIDTOWN KANSANS CITY DENIZENS ARE GETTING READY TO LAUNCH FURTHER OPPOSITION AGAINST THE TOY TRAIN LATER THIS WEEK!!!
It seems that faking civic activism is no longer an option for streetcar supporters and now they MIGHT be forced to argue and debate the sketchy merits of their proposal rather than fake volunteerism in order to get consulting contracts later on in the process like that d-bag Staubio.
Developing . . .
Sly might be facing his first real opposition here. Brooksiders aren't going to just give it away.
ReplyDeleteThumbs up!
ReplyDeleteHURRAH!
ReplyDeleteJust keep telling the truth about the new taxes and people will respond with a NO vote.
Don't let Mayor James pull a SLY one on you!!!
Sly will destroy you.
ReplyDeleteSly's to busy destroying the city to notice 10:56
ReplyDeleteYes now all of a sudden Johnson and Co. are posting a PDF the average person can't begin to find buried and obscured in all the hype on the NR site and they suddenly care!
ReplyDeleteYes we want you all to know just how deep your going to dig into your pockets for this!! It's going to be a lot so don't be afraid to ask us about it at tomorrow nights final meeting on Main Street. We're here to help!
Right and how many taxpayers with real lives and and heavy responsibilities follow Downtown Streetcar Supporters Twitter daily to get their facts?
ReplyDeleteI doubt anyone with serious commitments and responsibilities is interested in forking out for this so some hipsters can get a free trolley car ride to a bar for $3 pints.
ReplyDeleteAsking the Toy Train promoters to be honest, straightforward, and transparent is a tall order. Especially since they consider the public naive lemmings.
ReplyDeleteNo doubt the Streetcar people will address this at tomorrow nights Main Street meeting and open the floor to a debate about all the costs not only in the short term but the long term. They are such nice people after all why would they be afraid to let citizens speak on the issue?
ReplyDeleteMore like if anyone stands up and says, when are you going to talk about the money, the disruption, and all the other issues you refuse to address?
ReplyDeleteThe reply will be something like I'm sorry this is not the place and time to discuss that so lets go right back to how neat the trolley will look whizzing back and forth along the trolley trail.
Here's a more appropriate video.
ReplyDeleteFuck this train
ReplyDeleteKC's bond rating is stellar so we could borrow the Streetcar money without significant harm.
ReplyDeleteAlso KC could float what is known as a REVENUE BOND. This means that bondholders are paid off in full or in part by the revenue generated by the project (Bridge, Turnpike, Streetcar, Subway).
and you 12:24 can go fuck yourself
ReplyDelete12:24: And WHAT revenue will the streetcar generate???? The initial link between River Market and Crown Center is free.
ReplyDeleteGet real, guy. If there were enough revenue to pay for this disaster, private companies would be lining up to get in on the goodies.
Russ Johnson said . . . "many have said they want the streetcar, but they won’t be taking it to work, which is in line with the city’s expectations. Besides, economic development potential, not ridership, will be the most important criteria in judging expansion lines. The stated goal of this project is economic development. That’s the dominant goal,” Johnson said. “The dominant goal is not to have a lot of people ride it. The dominant goal is to develop the city.”
ReplyDeleteThat right there should have set off warning signals in any intelligent persons brain who's going to have to fork out for this boondoggle.
The truth gets in the way of selfish behavior. The truth makes the posturing demagogue look foolish. The truth is bad for the big streetcar racket.
ReplyDeleteYou anti-streetcar people simply lack vision. MUST I repost the Hipster Manifesto (now in its third draft) to remind you geriatric cases of all the benefits we hipsters are bringing to this backward burg? Remember you can always move!
ReplyDeleteOK, we are paying for the infrastructure tax, with no improvements seen. We are paying the forever zoo tax. We are paying a P&L tax for a failed district that loses money every year. We pay jacked up water and sewer rates over TWICE what the same amount costs in surrounding jurisdictions (who, by the way, purchase water from KCMO). Supreme Idiot James refuses to cooperate with the Missouri State Auditor to audit the Water Department and other Departments. Jackson County has raised our real estate taxes. Tax Tax Tax. WE WILL NOT SUPPORT ANY NEW TAXES. The streetcar morons, including Supreme Idiot James and his hipster freaks in City Hall do not seem to understand that the voters simply will not approve another tax. The saturation point has been reached, and then some. It all comes down to common sense, which is that the public does not need or want a streetcar! This boondoggle is being advanced to pad the coffers of architects and construction folks (WHO MAKE MANY CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTIONS) - and that is ALL.
ReplyDeleteTHE EMPEROR HAS NO CLOTHES, PEOPLE.
1:03 comment is a FREAKING GENIUS!!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comments.
Not only does the public not have any idea about streetcar phase II. There's never been a real and honest accounting of how much money has already been spent, where it all was taken from, and any serious presentation of expected tax revenues vs operations and maintenance expenses FOR PHASE I!
ReplyDeleteAnd if the Main Street route is free, all the rest will have to be too. First decision by the Streetcar Autority that Sly appointed. Fols who, by the way, have NO RESPONSIBLITIES for how anything turns out, how much it costs, or who pays for it.
Sly's days of cheerleading while hiding behind the curtain are coming to an end.
And there's not a whole lot to see except tens of millions already spent and $10-15 million/year debt payments as far as the eye can see.
All aboard.
No no no.....No Toy Train....the bear has spoken
ReplyDeleteDon't forget about this quote from Sly on KCUR radio Feb. 21
ReplyDeleteWe need people to understand, a lot of the folks who are against this [streetcar expansion] are people who have been vested here, they’re already here. They’ve lived most of their lives if not close to all of it [here]. We’re not building this city for them. We’re building this city for the next 75 years.
Got that, KC taxpayers? The streetcar is not for you, it is for others, hipsters who don't like cars, either in the future or those who live somewhere else
500 million on the table and the Mudsharks are circling. The comments are getting more personal and the attacks more vicious. Stake and protect your $$$$$$ train. Let the "grift" begin. LOL

Let Sly have those people vote for him in next year's election. NO toy train. NO SLY in 2015.
Consulting NOT that's P.R.
ReplyDelete^^^It's Staubio^^^
ReplyDeleteThese are my kind of people.

ReplyDeleteThere you have it from da man! This city is being remade by and for us hipsters, and if you don't like it you can always move. We hipsters want your houses, anyway.
Yeah! And we hipsters are tired of you people with cars, nice single family homes with a driveway, and your stupid freaking yards!
ReplyDeleteNegro brethren gonna shoot up Toy Train. Sieve on wheels.
ReplyDeleteI love how uppity the middle class white folk have been because it means that sly and co are spending literally no time or effort trying to convince the poor blacks who form 46 percent of the district that the streetcar is good for them. Can't wait to see CK wreck it's ship on these rocks and for all the rats - read as consultants - to head for the life boats
ReplyDeleteSad to watch overpaid firms ruin good ideas
ReplyDeleteCity Hall picked the wrong gravy train. They must be jealous of the Barnes-era folk.
