TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! CLAY CHASTAIN LIGHT RAIL CRUSADE CONTINUES AND CALLS OUT KANSAS CITY 'OPPRESSIVE' MAYOR AND COUNCIL!!!

Recently, Kansas City is spending A LOT OF CASH pushing transit schemes with minimal voter approval . . .

KC signs off on $124.5M in bonds, with $71.5M for streetcar

Like it or not, Clay Chastain is STILL one of the few people with CITYWIDE support on the topic of fixed rail transit.

To wit . . .

ONLY ON TKC: READ CLAY CHASTAIN IN HIS OWN WORDS CALLING OUT KANSAS CITY LOCAL GOVERNMENT FOR BLOCKING HIS LIGHT RAIL PLAN!!!

Even better . . .

CLAY CHASTAIN WILL CONTINUE HIS CRUSADE THAT COULD PUT A HALT TO KANSAS CITY'S TOY TRAIN PLANS!!!

His effort to PUT HIS LIGHT RAIL PLAN ON THE AUGUST BALLOT might further confuse or inspire the last remaining people who vote in Kansas City.

From Clay Chastain, February 28, 2014

It's official: Mayor James and the rest of Kansas City's self-serving oppressive government are going to continue not to let the people vote on their valid light rail initiative...that was recently found constitutional by the Missouri Supreme Court...unless the city is ordered to do so by the court!

Good, and when that ruling comes down ordering them to do so it will be the political undoing of Mayor James, Councilman Russ Johnson, Councilman Ed Ford, the rest of the milque toast we have for a city council, in addition to the city's scheming, undemocratically administered, and wayward streetcar plan the city is trying to shield from a competing city-wide, multimodal, innovative transit initiative.

The city had no trouble recently amending the KCI petition ordinance to effectuate its purpose. However, the city is unwilling to amend a so-called technical lapse in the light rail initiative ordinance in order to respect the stated will and intent of the voters that signed the light rail initiative. Mayor James and company are obvilously afraid to let the people vote on the light rail initiative...especially since I won last time... because they fear the voters will favor the transit initiative over their forced streetcar plan.

These politicos look like insecure desperados that will stop at nothing to make sure their poorly thought through streetcar plan is the only transit plan placed before the voters.

Since the city will not voluntarily do the right thing and let the people vote on the light rail initiative, we will file the following motion in circuit court today:

Motion for a new and expedited hearing to resolve the bogus technicality concerning the ordinance language with the intent to ask the court to order the city to place the light rail initiative before voters in the upcoming August election.

History has shown that this kind of strong armed, self serving government that refuses to let the people vote, never prevails in the end.

  1. TKC: Here's one of the things you missed. When the sales street car sales tax is proposed. If the whole city gets to vote on it: It will certainly go down in flames.

  8. Couldn't agree more with his narrative. It's on point. Expose the rotund, self-serving Sly beast for what he really is... a dictator.

  11. Clay Chastain is a hero. He's the difference between people who raise their flag in vain every forth of July and know absolutely nothing about democracy; Clay on the other hand is fight for a worthy cause and democracy and understands, investigates and demands the liberties granted to him. The voting public is a group of selfish, self-righteous ignoramus.

Well done, Clay! Stay at 'em!

  12. Isn't it strange that Sly can be a dictator and bully when it comes to fulff like the streetcar, but when you talk about REAL issues that are important to folks who actually live here, like crime, streets, and water pipes, he just doesn't have the clout to even try to do a thing.
Guess there's no money in it for him and the insiders.

  13. Maybe the city can provide a tax payer vacation to Spain? As wrong as it is, who will oppose it? Certainly not our elected officials or the media.

  14. 9:18. Thanks, I needed a good laugh. If he's such a great believer in Democracy and the will of the people why is he still trying to sell KC on light rail after being told by the citizens time and again that they do not want it?
