  1. They turned The Rock into a Gestapo run nightmare. Say goodbye to students and families who care about freedom and liberty!

  2. as an alum i was baffled by this decision. i wonder if it at all effected the annual campaign or the auction or any support from alums. many i have spoken too were very upset. it will be interesting to see if any legacy families decide not to send the next son.

  3. No, Rockhurst isn't any more difficult to attend than when it didn't have mandatory drug testing; but the "few" busted kids they found were generally known to be dealers and also the biggest users. They get one opportunity to stop using and selling drugs, but if they get busted a second time, they get kicked out. Drug testing works for the military, the airlines, and a bunch of other public safety and security-sensitive jobs. I don't know if it would help the KC School District, or not - those kids are mostly without parental support, and they live in a low-expectation environment, unlike Rockhurst kids.
