KSHB: Former KCFD employees not surprised by racism claim
Again, like it or not, KCFD is THE LAST REMAINING CITY DEPT. that doesn't even come close to meeting with federally mandated hiring guidelines and ADA requirements. Other Fire Departments in neighboring suburbs have incorporated more diversity and greater gender equality than KCFD . . . Meanwhile . . . This group still pretty much controls the politicos of a town that would like to give the illusion that they're progressive . . . Except when endorsement time rolls around.

Tony since you keep bringing this topic up, why don't you do some actual reporting and tell us the numbers...like how many employees the kcfd has, how many are white, black, Hispanic, asian, etc...and how many are male vs. female. ReplyDeletePeople who live in Kansas City are well aware of their fire and EMS protection. They also watch the news and see the depts. in action when they go to the golden ghetto's as well. They are not blind and dumb to see the difference so I say if they are speaking out about it it's great.
