Fuck I get poorer every year. Watched my pension plan take a huge shit. Sales at work falling off all the time. My bonus is now a joke but I am still working the same hours. Then I see assholes like that fucking Byron making fun of me because I work while they sit on their ass doing nothing but ridicule me. And people wonder why I am pissed at times about things.
ReplyDeleteRegular folks are certainly being pressed financially, but it doesn't have much to do with inflation, which has been just over over one percent for years.
ReplyDeleteLocally, maybe it has something to do with all the tax money that is constantly funneled to developers, consultants, and other insiders, and the endless proposals for higher sales and property taxes to pay for such toys as the streetcar, soccer fields, and now a Jackson County rail plan.
Regular people trying to earn livings while being taxed to support projects of high-end corporations and groups of swells.

Residents, especially folks north of the river, are getting mighty tired of pouring money into a slush fund that city hall uses for whatever grandiose plan that comes rolling into town.
We need more $160,000 assistant city managers. We should split Pat Klein's assistant city manager job into three assistant city managers. One to post on TKC, one for Facebook, and one for Twitter.
